  1. 1. Orthodontic anchorage evidence-based evaluation of anchorage capacity and patients' perceptions

    Detta är en avhandling från Malmö University, Faculty of Odontology, Department of Orthodontics

    Författare :Ingalill Feldmann; [2007]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Orthodontic anchorage is the ability to resist unwanted reciprocal forces and reinforcement of anchorage by supplementary appliances, in or outside the mouth, is often needed to obtain successful results. In the last 10 years, interest in appliances that use implants has been growing. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Experimental studies on effects of orthodontic forces in generation of immune responses : Possible roles for immunoregulating molecules in the control of alveolar bone remodeling

    Detta är en avhandling från Stockholm : Karolinska Institutet, Department of Medicine

    Författare :Najat AL-Sayed AL-Hashimi; Karolinska Institutet.; Karolinska Institutet.; [2004]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Orthodontic forces; inflammation; immune responses; cytokines; chemokines.;

    Sammanfattning : The transformation of orthodontic forces to periodontal tissues involves several biological mechanisms, which ultimately result in bone remodelling. It has been suggested that the immune system plays a role in the regulation of bone remodelling through production of immune mediators by inflammatory cells that have migrated from dilated periodontal ligament capillaries after the application of orthodontic force. 3. 3. Orthodontically induced root resorption: a clinical and radiographic survey

    Detta är en avhandling från Göteborg : University of Gothenburg

    Författare :Dimitrios Makedonas; Göteborgs universitet.; Gothenburg University.; [2012]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; orthodontics; root resorption; prediction; CBCT; Angle Class I; fixed appliance; six month; risk factors;

    Sammanfattning : In 2005 the Swedish Council on Health Technology Assessment (SBU), in a systematic review, Malocclusions and Orthodontic Treatment in a Health Perspective, concluded that there were low or contradicted evidence for an association between orthodontic treatment and the risks for negative side effects. The aims of this study was to evaluate the perception of Greek and Swedish orthodontic practitioners view on orthodontically induced root resorption (OIRR), to investigate how root resorption is handled in a large orthodontic clinic and to prospectively study and correlate the prevalence and severity of root resorption seen after an initial treatment period and at the end of treatment, in a cohort of patients treated with fixed appliance.
