  1. 1. Characterization of Polypeptides by Tandem Mass Spectrometry Using Complementary Fragmentation Techniques

    Författare :Michael Lund Nielsen; Roman A. Zubarev; Per Andrén; Ole Nörregaard Jensen; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Analytical chemistry; Mass Spectrometry; Electron capture dissociation ECD ; Collision-activated dissociation CAD ; Proteomics; Post-translational modifications; De Novo sequencing; Bioinformatics; Analytisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : In the growing field of proteomics identification of proteins by tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS) is performed by matching experimental mass spectra against calculated spectra of all possible peptides in a protein database. One problem with this approach is the false-positive identifications. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : Mass spectrometry has in recent years been established as the standard method for protein identification and characterization in proteomics with excellent intrinsic sensitivity and specificity. Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance is the mass spectrometric technique that provides the highest resolving power and mass accuracy, increasing the amount of information that can be obtained from complex samples.
