  1. 11. The layer that did not swim away : Broadband acoustic discrimination and characterization of ocean stratification

    Författare :Elizabeth Reed-Weidner; Martin Jakobsson; Richard Hobbs; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Acoustical Oceanography; acoustics; oceanography; stratification; remote sensing; maringeologi; Marine Geology;

    Sammanfattning : Ocean stratification plays a critical role in many oceanographic processes. The magnitude of mixing between stable water masses is regulated, in part, by the intensity of stratification. LÄS MER

  2. 12. Airborne laser depth sounding : model development concerning the detection of small objects on the sea bottom

    Författare :Michael Tulldahl; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :lidar; depth sounding; remote sensing; ocean optics; laser beam transmission;

    Sammanfattning : Airborne laser depth sounding is a promising technique for rapid and high -density sounding of shallow waters. Depth accuracy analysis for laser depth sounding has almost exclusively dealt with horizontal flat bottoms. The objective of this work is to simulate and compare the influence of different shapes of small objects placed on the sea bottom. LÄS MER

  3. 13. The Arctic Summer Atmosphere

    Författare :Cecilia Wesslén; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Arctic; meteorology; reanalysis; clouds; remote sensing;

    Sammanfattning : The Arctic climate has experienced large changes over recent decades, the largest for any region on Earth. To understand the underlying reasons for this climate sensitivity, we need both models and observations. LÄS MER

  4. 14. Study on the Earth’s Surface Mass Variations using Satellite Gravimetry Observations

    Författare :Hadi Amin; Mohammad Bagherbandi; Lars Sjöberg; Faramarz Nilfouroushan; Martin Horwath; Högskolan i Gävle; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; geodetic reference system; geoid potential; global vertical datum; climate change; global warming; mass change; ice melting; sea-level change; remote sensing; satellite gravimetry; geodetiska referenssystem; geopotential; globala vertikala datum; klimatförändring; global uppvärmning; massförändring; issmältning; havsnivåförändring; fjärranalys; satellitgravimetri;

    Sammanfattning : Our complex planet is continuously undergoing temporal and spatial changes. In this context, ongoing processes in the Earth subsystems (geosphere, biosphere, cryosphere, hydrosphere, and atmosphere) cause changes in the gravity field of the Earth across a wide range of temporal and spatial scales. 5. 15. Environmental Monitoring by Multi-Spectral Lidar Techniques

    Författare :Petter Weibring; Atomfysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; non-linear optics; fluorescence spectroscopy; scattering; multi-spectral imaging; Atom- och molekylärfysik; atmospheric pollution; Atomic and molecular physics; laser; remote sensing; lidar; DIAL; Fysicumarkivet A:2002:Weibring;

    Sammanfattning : Multi-spectral lidar (light detection and ranging) techniques have been developed and employed in various environmental studies, ranging from concentration mapping of volcanic emissions to fluorescence imaging of historical monuments. In both absorption measurements of gaseous species and fluorescence imaging of stones, multiple wavelength excitation and multiple wavelength detection have been applied. LÄS MER
