16. Lead in blood. ICP-MS studies of lead in plasma, blood and erythrocyte proteins
Sammanfattning : An inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) method for the determination of lead in blood plasma has been developed. The detection limit was below 0.1 microgram/liter, and the precision 5%. There was no significant difference between levels in plasma and serum. LÄS MER
17. Dimethylethylamine and dimethylbenzylamine in foundries and the epoxy industry : Analysis, metabolism, biological monitoring, toxicological effects and occupational exposure
Sammanfattning : Dimethylethylamine (DMEA) and dimethylbenzylamine (DMBA) are tertiary aliphatic amines, used as catalysts e.g., in mould core manufacturing and heat cured epoxy systems. Health effects such as visual disturbances and respiratory irritation occur among workers handling DMEA and airway symptoms are recorded by many workers exposed to DMBA. LÄS MER
18. Determination of benzene in urine and breath for monitoring of benzene exposure
Sammanfattning : The aim of this work was to develop and validate methods for determination of unmetabolized benzene in breath and urine. The methods were intended for the bio monitoring of benzene to assess both occupational and environmental exposure.A method was developed for the determination of benzene in end-exhaled air. LÄS MER
19. Resin acids in commercial products and the work environment of Swedish wood pellets production : Analytical methodology, occurrence and exposure
Sammanfattning : The aims of the work this thesis is based upon were to develop convenient analytical procedures for determining resin acids in biological and environmental matrices, and apply them to enhance understanding of the occurrence, exposure to and uptake by exposed individuals of resin acids. Particular focus has been on the workplace environment of the Swedish wood pellets industry. LÄS MER
20. Renewable diesel fuels and emission control strategies : Implications for occupational exposure, human health, and the environment
Sammanfattning : Combustion of fossil diesel is a major environmental problem for both the climate and human health. Renewable diesel fuels have been developed and introduced to the market to reduce the net CO2 emissions. LÄS MER
