  1. 11. Ovarian tumors. Prevalence, malignancy risk and significance of the Plasminogen activation system

    Författare :Christer Borgfeldt; Lund Obstetrik och gynekologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; reproduktion; andrologi; gynekologi; sexuality; Obstetrik; Ovarian neoplasm; andrology; reproduction; epidemiology; ultrasonography; plasminogen activation; prognosis; gynaecology; Obstetrics; sexualitet;

    Sammanfattning : The aims were to assess the prevalence of ovarian tumors in fertile asymptomatic women and to evaluate the risk of ovarian cancer in women with a history of benign ovarian tumors and endometriosis. In order to search for biomarkers in ovarian tumors, the plasminogen activating (PA) system was studied. LÄS MER

  2. 12. OXYTOCIN AND VASOPRESSIN IN UTERINE ACTIVITY. Receptor-mediated agonism and antagonism with special regard to the aetiology and treatment of preterm labour and primary dysmenorrhoea

    Författare :Thomas Bossmar; Lund Obstetrik och gynekologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Obstetrics; primary dysmenorrhoea.; preterm labour; vasopressin antagonist; receptors; oxytocin antagonist; vasopressin; Oxytocin; gynaecology; andrology; reproduction; sexuality; Obstetrik; gynekologi; andrologi; reproduktion; sexualitet;

    Sammanfattning : With a view to the aetiology and treatment of preterm labour and primary dysmenorrhoea we studied the influence of sexual steroids on the plasma levels of oxytocin and vasopressin, effect of these peptides on uterine contractility in vitro and in vivo, receptor concentrations and antagonists to oxytocin and vasopressin. In postmenopausal women oestrogen increased the concentrations in plasma of both peptides, whereas progesterone increased oxytocin but decreased vasopressin levels. LÄS MER

  3. 13. Vascular mechanical properties and endothelial function with special reference to pregnancy and hormonal influences

    Författare :Jana Brodszki; Lund Obstetrik och gynekologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; gynaecology; andrology; reproduction; sexuality; Obstetrik; gynekologi; andrologi; reproduktion; sexualitet; Obstetrics; systemic lupus erythematosus; hormone therapy; preeclampsia; pregnancy; endothelial function; arterial stiffness; vessels; ultrasound; cardiovascular disease;

    Sammanfattning : Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is one of the leading causes of mortality and morbidity. Early recognition of vascular changes, both structural and functional, may help to identify individuals at risk for CVD. LÄS MER

  4. 14. The use of routine ultrasound in pregnancy : with special reference to normal and abnormal foetal growth, information and informed choice and the womens' experiences of the prenatal diagnostic aspects

    Författare :Elizabeth Crang Svalenius; Barns och familjers hälsa; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; acceptance of serum screening for Down Syndrome.; satsifaction with choice; informed choice; information; Ultrasound growth parameters; foetal disproportion; Obstetrics; gynaecology; andrology; reproduction; sexuality; Obstetrik; gynekologi; andrologi; reproduktion; sexualitet;

    Sammanfattning : The development of real-time ultrasound in the 1970's made indelible inpact on antenatal care. Assessing foetal growth and detecting deviations from normal in both growth and foetal anatomy became fesible. Expectant parents could also 'see' their foetus. LÄS MER

  5. 15. Doppler Velocimetry in the Evaluation of Fetal Well-Being

    Författare :Mariusz Dubiel; gynekologisk och prenatal ultraljudsdiagnostik Obstetrisk; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Obstetrics; perinatal outcome; physiology; fetus; Doppler velocimetry; Color Doppler Energy; gynaecology; andrology; reproduction; sexuality; Obstetrik; gynekologi; andrologi; reproduktion; sexualitet;

    Sammanfattning : Ultrasound Doppler velocimetry was used to predict fetal well-being. The uterine artery blood velocimetry seemed to be a good predictor of perinatal outcome in high-risk pregnancies and a complement to umbilical artery velocimetry. The fetal middle cerebral artery blood velocimetry might be an early sign of fetal hypoxia. LÄS MER
