  1. 6. Cost Optimization of Volumetric Surveillance for Sky Monitoring : Towards Flying Object Detection and Positioning

    Författare :Hiba Alqaysi; Mattias O'Nils; Najeem Lawal; Faisal Qureshi; Fabio Poiesi; Mittuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Electronics; image processing; deep learning; YOLOv4; smart cameras;

    Sammanfattning : Unlike surface surveillance, volumetric monitoring deals with three-dimensional target space and moving objects within it. In sky monitoring, objects fly within outdoor and often remote volumes, such as wind farms and airport runways. Therefore, multiple cameras should be implemented to monitor these volumes and analyze flying activities. LÄS MER

  2. 7. Evidence for "liveness" in face biometrics

    Författare :Klaus Kollreider; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Motion estimation; Optical flow of lines; Quangles; Object detection; OFL; Liveness detection; Anti-spoofing measures; Structure tensor; Quantized angle features; Face biometrics;

    Sammanfattning : Aliveness or "liveness" detection is a novel but crucial topic in biometrics. In this study we will investigate it for face biometrics. The problem is given by the real-time requirements of such a system to be able to avert advanced spoofing attempts, e.g. LÄS MER

  3. 8. Object Detection and Recognition in Unstructured Outdoor Environments

    Författare :Ahmad Ostovar; Thomas Hellström; Ola Ringdahl; Mårten Björkman; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Computer vision; Deep Learning; Harvesting Robots; Automatic Detection and Recognition; Computer Science; datalogi;

    Sammanfattning : Computer vision and machine learning based systems are often developed to replace humans in harsh, dangerous, or tedious situations, as well as to reduce the required time to accomplish a task. Another goal is to increase performance by introducing automation to tasks such as inspections in manufacturing applications, sorting timber during harvesting, surveillance, fruit grading, yield prediction, and harvesting operations. 4. 9. Visual Representations and Models: From Latent SVM to Deep Learning

    Författare :Hossein Azizpour; Stefan Carlsson; Barbara Caputo; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Computer Vision; Machine Learning; Artificial Intelligence; Deep Learning; Learning Representation; Deformable Part Models; Discriminative Latent Variable Models; Convolutional Networks; Object Recognition; Object Detection; Computer Science; Datalogi;

    Sammanfattning : Two important components of a visual recognition system are representation and model. Both involves the selection and learning of the features that are indicative for recognition and discarding those features that are uninformative. LÄS MER

    Författare :Shafiq ur Réhman; Li Liu; Xiaoyi Jiang; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Multimodal Signal Processing; Mobile Communication; Vibrotactile Rendering; Locally Linear Embedding; Object Detection; Human Facial Expression Analysis; Lip Tracking; Object Tracking; HCI; Expectation-Maximization Algorithm; Lipless Tracking; Image Analysis; Visually Impaired.; Signal processing; Signalbehandling; Image analysis; Bildanalys; Computer science; Datavetenskap; Telecommunication; Telekommunikation; Systems engineering; Systemteknik; datoriserad bildanalys; Computerized Image Analysis; business data processing; administrativ databehandling; Electronics; elektronik; Systems Analysis; systemanalys;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis addresses a challenging problem: “how to let the visually impaired ‘see’ others emotions”. We, human beings, are heavily dependent on facial expressions to express ourselves. A smile shows that the person you are talking to is pleased, amused, relieved etc. LÄS MER
