11. Localization using Distance Geometry : Minimal Solvers and Robust Methods for Sensor Network Self-Calibration
Sammanfattning : In this thesis, we focus on the problem of estimating receiver and sender node positions given some form of distance measurements between them. This kind of localization problem has several applications, e.g. LÄS MER
12. Low Rank Matrix Factorization and Relative Pose Problems in Computer Vision
Sammanfattning : This thesis is focused on geometric computer vision problems. The first part of the thesis aims at solving one fundamental problem, namely low-rank matrix factorization. We provide several novel insights into the problem. In brief, we characterize, generate, parametrize and solve the minimal problems associated with low-rank matrix factorization. LÄS MER
13. Two Essays in Empirical Finance: Unit-Root Testing in the Presence of Structural Breaks
Sammanfattning : Essay 1: Real Exchange Rate Adjustment in European Transition Countries Essay 1 presents unit-root test results for real exchange rates in ten Central and Eastern European transition countries relative to the Euro during 1993:01-2005:12. Because of the shift from controlled to market economies and the accompanying crises, failed policy regimes and changes in exchange rate regimes, appropriate tests in transition countries require allowing for both structural changes and outliers. 14. Modelling the offset lithographic printing process
Sammanfattning : A concept for data management and adaptive modelling of the offset lithographic printing process is proposed. Artificial neural networks built from historical process data are used to model the offset printing process aiming to develop tools for online ink flow control. LÄS MER
15. DNA methylation and aging : a longitudinal study of old Swedish twins
Sammanfattning : DNA methylation is a well-known biomarker of aging. Many previous studies have reported the change of DNA methylation patterns with age, and analyzed DNA methylation in association with aging outcomes. However, most publications were based on cross-sectional data while longitudinal evidence was largely missing. LÄS MER
