2. Prevalence and Inheritance of Hip Osteoarthritis in Iceland
Sammanfattning : Hereditary factors are suggested to contribute to osteoarthritis (OA), but their relative importance is uncertain. Moreover, the underlying specific variations at the genome level remain unknown. The prevalence of hip OA in Iceland was assessed by examining colon radiographs and was found to be at least 5-fold higher compared to Sweden and Denmark. LÄS MER
3. Patient Relevant Outcome after Total Hip Replacement in Osteoarthritis
Sammanfattning : The purpose of the study was to evaluate patient relevant outcome after total hip replacement (THR) in patients with primary osteoarthritis (OA). 247 patients >50 years of age with primary hip OA, operated on with THR (Sept1995—Oct1998), were investigated consecutively and prospectively. 68 of the THR were made with hybrid technique. 4. On fixation of hip resurfacing implants
Sammanfattning : Hip resurfacing became a recognized entity in hip replacement in the 1970’s. This generation of resurfacing implants was abandoned due to loosening and debris. LÄS MER
5. Evolutionary Analysis and Posttranslational Chemical Modifications in Protein Redesign : A Study on Mu Class Glutathione Transferases
Sammanfattning : Glutathione transferases (GSTs) constitute a family of multifarious enzymes that conjugate glutathione (GSH) with a wide range of electrophiles. GSTs are grouped into different classes based on protein sequence similarities. Despite high sequence identities between GSTs of the same class they often display different substrate specificites.
