  1. 21. B cell activation in vitro: thymus-dependent immune responses and bacterial cell surface proteins

    Författare :Karol Axcrona; Immunologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; nuclear transport; bacterial Ig-binding proteins; CD40L promoter; CD21; Ig; B lymphocyte activation in vitro; CD40; Immunology; serology; transplantation; Immunologi; serologi;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis aspects of peripheral B lymphocyte differentiation were studied. Through in vitro experiments, B lymphocyte activation was assessed. B lymphocytes express immunoglobulin (Ig) specific for a certain antigen on the cell surface, and when surface Ig is crosslinked by an antigen, the cell is activated. LÄS MER

  2. 22. Multifaceted roles of the transmembrane nuclear envelope protein, Samp1

    Författare :Mohammed Hakim Jaffer Ali; Einar Hallberg; Giovanna Lattanzi; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Nuclear envelope; transmembrane protein interaction studies; cell differentiation; stem cells; myopathies; neurokemi med molekylär neurobiologi; Neurochemistry with Molecular Neurobiology;

    Sammanfattning : The eukaryotic nuclear envelope (NE), separates the nucleoplasm from cytoplasm and is made up of two concentric lipid membranes, the outer and the inner nuclear membranes (ONM and INM), the nuclear pore complexes (NPCs) and an underlying filamentous nuclear lamina. The INM contains hundreds of unique transmembrane proteins of which only a handful have been characterized. LÄS MER

  3. 23. Immunodominant proteins in Giardia lamblia

    Författare :Malin Weiland; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : The protozoan parasite Giardia lamblia is a major cause of diarrhoea in humans and other mammals. Infection starts by ingestion of infectious cysts that excyst in the upper part of the small intestine and attach to intestinal epithelial cells. LÄS MER

  4. 24. Nuclear receptor corepressor N-CoR : role in transcriptional repression

    Författare :Kristina Loinder; Mats Söderström; Eckardt Treuter; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Sammanfattning : The human body consists of a multitude of cells of varying appearance and function. With a few exceptions they are genetically identical, and the key to their divergence lies in their different specific patterns of gene expression. LÄS MER

  5. 25. The ADAPT scaffold as a tool for diagnostic imaging and targeted therapy

    Författare :Emma von Witting; Sophia Hober; Inger Sandlie; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Protein G; ABD; ADAPT; affinity proteins; antibody; protein engineering; targeted therapy; nuclear medicine; molecular imaging; HER2; radionuclide therapy; Bioteknologi; Biotechnology;

    Sammanfattning : Molecular recognition, or the specific interactions between a protein and its ligand, is central to biology and a key factor for many different clinical and technical applications. Despite antibodies being only one of many different affinity proteins, it has by far been the most successful. LÄS MER
