  1. 1. Notch signalling in carcinogenesis : With special emphasis on T-cell lymphoma and colorectal cancer

    Författare :Jonas Ungerbäck; Peter Söderkvist; Ola Hermanson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Notch signalling; T-cell lymphoma; colorectal cancer; Wnt signalling; transcription; Medical cell biology; Medicinsk cellbiologi;

    Sammanfattning : The Notch signalling pathway is an evolutionary conserved pathway, named after the Notch receptors, Notch1-4 in mammals, which upon cell-cell contact and ligand binding releases the intracellular domain (NICD). NICD translocates into the nucleus where it binds the transcriptional repressor RBP-Jk, which together with co-activators belonging to the Mastermind-like family of proteins form a transcriptional activation complex. 2. 2. Roles of Notch signalling in early embryonic development

    Författare :Heather Main; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Metazoan embryonic development requires a complex interplay of morphological processes coordinated with self-renewal and differentiation to correctly specify and maintain body cell types in the correct location. Notch signalling is a metazoan specific arbiter of cell fate decision processes, known to control lateral inhibition and asymmetric cell division processes throughout the metazoa and in the development of all metazoan organs. 3. 3. Early development of the olfactory placode and early rostrocaudal patterning of the caudal neural tube

    Författare :Esther Maier; Lena Gunhaga; Fernando Giraldez; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; olfactory placode; caudal neural tube; Wnt; FGF; RA; BMP; Notch; patterning; Developmental biology; Utvecklingsbiologi; molekylärbiologi; Molecular Biology;

    Sammanfattning : The development of the nervous system is a complex process. Cell divisions, cell differentiation and signalling interactions must be tightly regulated. To comprehend the mature nervous system, we have to understand its assembly during development. LÄS MER

  4. 4. FGFs and Wnts in pancreatic growth and β-cell function

    Författare :Stella Papadopoulou; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Molecular biology; Wnt; FGF; pancreas; Notch; signal transduction; development; proliferation; progenitors; β-cells; feedback; GSIS; diabetes; Molekylärbiologi; Molecular biology; Molekylärbiologi;

    Sammanfattning : Mesenchymal-epithelial interactions are pivotal for proper pancreatic growth and development. The pancreatic progenitor cells present in the early pancreatic anlagen proliferate and eventually give rise to all pancreatic cell types. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Pancreatic Endocrine Tumourigenesis : Genes of potential importance

    Författare :Térèse A. Johansson; Barbro Eriksson; Britt Skogseid; Gunnar Westin; Martin Bäckdahl; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Pancreatic endocrine tumour; Multiple endocrine neoplasia type 1; Tumourigenesis; Notch signalling; Notch1; Hes1; Neurog3; Neurod1; Men1; Ascl1; Pou3f4; Pdx1; Rpl10; Dlk1; Dkk1; Tph1; menin; Tumour biology; Tumörbiologi;

    Sammanfattning : Understanding signalling pathways that control pancreatic endocrine tumour (PET) development and proliferation may reveal novel targets for therapeutic intervention. The pathogenesis for sporadic and hereditary PETs, apart from mutations of the MEN1 and VHL tumour suppressor genes, is still elusive. LÄS MER
