21. Organic Synthesis in Nonionic Microemulsions
Sammanfattning : The aim of this work has been to explore the use of microemulsions as reaction media for organic synthesis. Another important aim has been to improve the understanding of the reaction kinetics and the mechanism of the reaction in this type of surfactant system. LÄS MER
22. Molecular associations and transport properties of amphiphiles and gastrointestinal mucin in aqueous solution
Sammanfattning : An effective uptake/absorption of drug formulations involve many processes; one being the transport of the active molecule through the mucus layer. The mucus layer is a complex mixture of biological molecules. Among them, mucin is the molecule that mainly provides the gel properties of the layer. LÄS MER
23. Scattering Studies of Macromolecules in Solution
Sammanfattning : The sphere-to-rod transition of nonionic micelles of the PEO-PPO-PEO triblock copolymer P123 and the surfactant C12EO6 was studied using dynamic and static light scattering, small angel X-ray scattering, rheology and calorimetry. The transition temperature was dependent of the C12EO6/P123 molar ratio, which means that a larger content of C12EO6 yields a higher transition temperature. LÄS MER
24. Association Phenomena Involving Hydrophobically Modified Polymers. Electrostatic and Hydrophobic Contributions
Sammanfattning : The electrostatic and hydrophobic interactions in aqueous solutions of hydrophobically-modified water-soluble non-ionic or ionic polymers, their mixtures with a second polymer, nonionic or of opposite charge, and their mixtures with surfactants of opposite charge have been investigated. The relative strength of the electrostatic and hydrophobic contributions has been modulated by a variation of the polymer charge density and the solution pH, and by a variation in the degree and strength of the hydrophobic modifications, respectively. 25. NMR Self-Diffusion Studies and Stability Studies of Emulsions
Sammanfattning : The aim of this study is to characterize emulsion systems by self-diffusion PGSE NMR methods. The specifics of the emulsions studied are all taken from the literature and they are of the W/O or O/W type stabilized with different emulsifiers. LÄS MER
