6. Pulse and hold switching current readout of superconducting quantum circuits
Sammanfattning : Josephson junction qubits are promising candidates for a scalable quantum processor. Such qubits are commonly manipulated by means of sequences of rf-pulses and different methods are used to determine their quantum state. LÄS MER
7. Laser Sheet Imaging and Image Analysis for Combustion Research
Sammanfattning : This Thesis presents techniques that aim at exploiting the potential of image analysis and processing in order to solve problems of data reduction, interpolation, quantification, and interpretation within the field of experimental laser imaging of combustion processes. Combustion is the most important source of energy for power generation, heating, and transportation in the world today and its strong dominance is projected to continue in the foreseeable future. 8. Luminosity determination and simulation of the LUCID detector at the ATLAS experiment
Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis is to describe how the luminosity can be measured in the ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider. Luminosity is a fundamental quantity that is used in most physics studies at the LHC. For example in order to measure cross sections. LÄS MER
9. A measurement approach to determination of coating thickness with eddy currents and to a capacitive person detector for robot safety
Sammanfattning : The research presented in this thesis is about coating thickness measurements using eddy currents, and a capacitive detector for detecting humans, for safety in industry.A method for determination of coating thickness of a copper-plated steel wire by measurement of the internal wire impedance, when this is forced by a constant, sinusoidal current, is presented. 10. InP/InAsP Quantum Discs-in-Nanowire Array Photodetectors: Design, Fabrication and Optical Performance
Sammanfattning : This thesis focuses on processing and electro-optical investigations of two- and three-terminal photodetectors based on large arrays of around three million n+-i-n+ InP nanowires with embedded InAsP quantum heterostructures for broadband detection. First, we investigated the optoelectronic behavior of two-terminal photodetectors under selective 980 nm excitation of the 20 axially embedded InAsP quantum discs in each of the nanowires. LÄS MER
