  1. 1. Clinical evaluation and implications of left atrial remodeling in atrial fibrillation : From silent cerebral lesions and atrial stunning to novel electrocardiographic tools for prediction of arrhythmia outcome

    Författare :Panagiotis Arvanitis; Carina Blomström-Lundqvist; Mårten Rosenqvist; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Atrial fibrillation; left atrial remodeling; recurrence; new-onset; silent cerebral lesions; white matter hyperintensities; cardioversion; pulmonary vein isolation; risk factors; electrocardiographic predictors; P-wave indices; machine learning; predictive models; Covid-19;

    Sammanfattning : Atrial fibrillation (AF) is the most common cardiac arrhythmia. Left atrial (LA) remodeling and reverse remodeling are associated with cerebral involvement and cognitive function (CF) changes. Risk stratification for AF related outcomes is essential in the management of patients with AF. LÄS MER

  2. 2. New approaches to monitoring of cardiac function

    Författare :Emil Söderqvist; Lars-Åke Brodin; Michael Haney; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; left ventricle; pressure and volume; Medical engineering; Medicinsk teknik;

    Sammanfattning : Left ventricular pumping performance may be described by intraventricular pressure and volume variables, usually presented as a pressure-volume plot. However, on-line monitoring of left ventricular pressure and volume with high temporal resolution requires the use of an invasive catheter technique such as, for example, the conductance catheter method. Författare :John Hanse; Teaterhögskolan i Malmö; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; Learning play; Repertories of contention; Activist; Rightwing populism; Script; Instructed action; Directing; Collective; Riot; Audience; Spectator; Brecht; Acting; Extra-parliamentary left; Antifascism; Audience participation; Lärostycke; Konfliktrepertoar; Aktivist; Högerpopulism; Manus; Instruerad handling; Regi; Kollektiv; Upplopp; Publik; Brecht; Skådespeleri; Utomparlamentarisk vänster; Antifascism; Publikdeltagande;

    Sammanfattning : This dissertation proceeds from the learning play as a historical idea about a theatre produced in relation to a political movement. Through the participation in the collective creation of two theatre performances, Violence & Learning and Corpus & Punishment, it takes part in the learning about societal phenomena in an attempt to answer the question: How can I participate in the creation of a new generation of learning plays? One of the starting points is a critical approach to views that the audience is passive and needs to be activated, or uninformed and needs to be informed. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Mechanical Circulatory Support in Left Ventricular Heart Failure

    Författare :Petter Schiller; Laila Hellgren; Anders Jönsson; Göran Dellgren; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Mechanical Circulatory Support; Left Ventricular Heart Failure; Left Ventricular Assist Device; Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation; ECMO; Thorax Surgery; Thoraxkirurgi;

    Sammanfattning : Short-term mechanical circulatory support (MCS) with ventricular assist devices or veno-arterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (VA ECMO) has become the standard treatment in patients with cardiogenic shock unresponsive to pharmacological treatment. However, the haemodynamic effects of these devices are not yet fully described, nor are their effects on ventricular function and myocardial recovery. LÄS MER
