  1. 1. Cold feet in children with neurological disorders

    Författare :Lena Svedberg; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Skin temperature; Acupuncture; Autonomic dysfunction; Cerebral palsy; Spinal cord disorders; Pain; Constipation; Well-being; Parental health; Parental mood; Restricted time; Services support; Sleeping disorders;

    Sammanfattning : These studies focused on presence of cold feet in children with neurological disorders and raised the questions: Does acupuncture affect skin temperature? Are cold feet a general symptom in children with neurological disorders? Are cold feet associated with other symptoms? What are the moods, health, and daily life experiences of these children’s parents? Study I assessed effects of acupuncture on skin temperature in children with neurological disorders. The study was of pilot character, to determine if further investigation in a larger, well-characterised group could be worthwhile. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Gene Therapy for Neurological Disorders

    Författare :Jan Tönnesen; Lund Neurologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; epileptiform activity; striatum; organotypic culture; electrophysiology; Wnt5a; synaptic connectivity.; cell transplantation; hippocampus; neural stem cells; epilepsy; functional integration; Parkinson’s disease; optogenetics; Gene therapy;

    Sammanfattning : Gene therapy is an attractive strategy for neurological disorders, such as Parkinson’s disease and epilepsy, for several reasons. Introduction of genes with a therapeutic potential can be achieved locally, by accurate injections in the compromised tissue, and release of a transgene therapeutic substance can be regulated by the surrounding host neural circuitry. 4. 4. Astheno-emotional disorder after aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage. Classification, outcome, and relation to anxiety and depressive disorders

    Författare :Martin Rödholm; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Astheno-Emotional disorder; cognition disorders; mental fatigue; amnesia; classification; inter-rater reliability; subarachnoid hemorrhage; outcome; anxiety disorders; depressive disorders.;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Psychiatric symptoms such as fatigue, concentration and memory difficulties, anxiety, and depressiveness are frequently reported after aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (aSAH) and in various other neurological diseases. These symptoms may indicate the presence of organic psychiatric disorders (OPDs), such as the Astheno-Emotional (AE-) disorder, of anxiety or depressive disorders, or both, but psychiatric classification and differentiation between such disorders have seldom been used in follow-up studies of neurological disease. 5. 5. Genetic investigations of four neurological disorders : From phenotype to mutation

    Författare :Anna Sillén; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Pediatrics; genetic disease; chromosome; microsatellite; linkage analysis; mutation; Pediatrik; Paediatric medicine; Pediatrisk medicin; klinisk genetik; Clinical Genetics;

    Sammanfattning : More than 5000, more or less rare, genetic diseases are known in man. A genetic disease is in most casesinherited from one generation to the next, and is caused by a change in the genetic code, a mutation. LÄS MER
