    Författare :Luis Daniel Ferreira Vasconcelos; Ülo Langel; Tore Bengtsson; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Cell-penetrating peptide; Large unilamellar vesicle; Membrane perturbation; Endosomal escape; neurokemi med molekylär neurobiologi; Neurochemistry with Molecular Neurobiology;

    Sammanfattning : The ability of cell-penetrating peptides to cross plasma membranes has been explored for various applications, including the delivery of bioactive molecules to inhibit disease-causing cellular processes. The uptake mechanisms by which cell-penetrating peptides enter cells depend on the conditions, such as the cell line the concentration and the temperature. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Vectorization of oligonucleotides with cell-penetrating peptides : Characterization of uptake mechanisms and cytotoxicity

    Sammanfattning : The hydrophobic plasma membrane constitutes an indispensable barrier for cells in living animals. Albeit being pivotal for the maintenance of cells, the inability to cross the plasma membrane is still one of the major obstacles to overcome in order to progress current drug development. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Characterization of nucleic acid delivery with fatty acid modified cell-penetrating peptide nanoparticle formulations

    Författare :Tõnis Lehto; Ülo Langel; Patrick Midoux; Stockholms universitet; []

    Sammanfattning : Recent advances with techniques used for manipulating gene expression have brought us to an era where various gene therapeutic approaches are becoming common therapeutic tools for many previously incurable diseases. The main factor impeding the wider translation of gene therapy is that the active pharmaceutical ingredients used for interfering with gene expression are based on nucleic acids and synthetic oligonucleotides and such molecules do not readily reach their intracellular targets due to their physicochemical properties and therefore they require delivery vectors to cross the cell membrane. 4. 4. Development of a new protective group for tryptophan

    Författare :Marie Danielsson; Anders Undén; Amelie Karlström; Stockholms universitet; []

    Sammanfattning : A new protective group for the indole nitrogen of the amino acid tryptophan, the Boc-sarcosinoyl-sarcosinolyl (Boc-Sar-Sar) is described. This protective group shows good stability to the reaction conditions used in solid phase peptide synthesis and is incorporated into the peptide as FmocTrp(BocSarSar)OH. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Cell-penetrating peptides in cargo delivery : In vitro studies on uptake and in vivo studies on tumor targeting

    Författare :Helena Myrberg; Ülo Langel; Roland Brock; Stockholms universitet; []

    Sammanfattning : The capability of cell-penetrating peptides (CPPs) to transport cargos over different cellular membranes both in vitro and in vivo have drawn major attention in the past decade. Three main topics on the application of CPPs have been studied in this thesis. LÄS MER
