  1. 1. Students as scientists : a study of motivation in the science classroom

    Författare :Jenny Maria Hellgren; Magnus Österholm; Jim Ryder; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; motivation; emotions; experiences; authentic science; student-teacher-scientist partnership; secondary school; implementation; classroom; mathematics; self-determination theory; didactics of natural science; naturvetenskapens didaktik;

    Sammanfattning : School science and mathematics have been criticized for being difficult, de-contextualised and teacher-centred. This thesis concerns student motivation in science and mathematics in secondary school, and in particular student motivation in relation to student-teacher-scientist partnerships (STSPs) and an authentic science task called the Medicine Hunt where students help scientists to find new antibiotics. 2. 2. Two dimensions of student ownership of learning during small-group work with miniprojects and context rich problems in physics

    Författare :Margareta Enghag; Hans Niedderer; Peter Gustafsson; Jonte Bernhard; Phil Scott; Karlstads universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; ownership of learning; exploratory talks; physics learning; context rich problems; miniprojects; Naturvetenskapernas och teknikens didaktik; fysikdidaktik; Ämnesdidaktik; Subject Didactics; Physics; Fysik; NATURAL SCIENCES; Naturvetenskapernas och teknikens didaktik;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis the theoretical framework student ownership of learning (SOL) is developed both theoretically and with qualitative research, based on studies of small-group work in physics with miniprojects and context rich problems. Ownership is finally defined as actions of choice and control, i.e. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Comparative Study of Teaching Computational Mathematics in Two Different Learning Environments

    Författare :Dara Maghdid; Matematik LTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Computational mathematics; Teaching style; Variation Theory; Mathematics values; Motivation;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis aims to investigate necessary adaptations in the design of a mathematics course when it is transferred from one cultural environment to another. We focus on an elementary course in computational mathematics with Python taught at Lund University, Sweden, and at Soran University, Kurdistan/Iraq. This project holds two main parts. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Narrativer i förändringsarbete – Från projekt till Athenas plan

    Författare :Maria Bolin; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; förändringsarbete; IT och förändring; narrativer; meningsskapande; kreativitet; motivation; metod för förändringsledning;

    Sammanfattning : Planned changes occur constantly in organizations. Most of these change management projects fail to reach decided goals and have limited impact within the organization. An important prerequisite for anchoring changes is to get people motivated, engaged and to create understanding of the change process. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Developing Theoretical and Empirical Definitions of Safety Problems in Driving Suitable for Active Safety Function Evaluation

    Författare :Mikael Ljung Aust; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; avoidance; driver behaviour; pre-crash scenarios; crash causation; adaptation; motivation; conceptual framework; active safety functions;

    Sammanfattning : In passive safety, the requirement specifications used for evaluation of protective functions are both standardised and specified at a high level of detail regarding evaluation scenario definition, performance metrics and pass/fail criteria. For active safety, while several propositions for evaluation scenarios have been made, neither these, nor performance metrics and pass/fail criteria have yet reached a similar level of detail and standardisation.
