  1. 1. Analyzing real-world data to promote development of active safety systems that reduce car-to-vulnerable road user accidents

    Författare :Azra Habibovic; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Accident prevention; Naturalistic observation; Causation analysis; Active safety system; Vulnerable road user VRU ; Driver behavior; Functional requirements; Statistical analysis; VRU behavior;

    Sammanfattning : The overall objective of the thesis is to explore various types of real-world road traffic data and to assess the extent to which they can inform the design of active safety systems that aim to prevent car-to-vulnerable road user (VRU) accidents. A combined analysis of in-depth and police reported accident data provided information on driver behavior and contextual variables, which is valuable for the development of active safety systems. 2. 2. Preschoolers' peer competence : Developmental perspectives on prosocial behavior, aggression, and social cognition

    Författare :Gun Persson; Institutionen för psykologi; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Psychology; naturalistic observation; longitudinal study; cognitive bias; theory of mind; social cognition; proactive aggression; reactive aggression; altruistic behavior; prosocial behavior; Social competence; peer interactions; Psykologi;

    Sammanfattning : This doctoral thesis explored three broad aspects of preschoolers’ social competence: prosocial behavior, aggression, and social cognition. The longitudinal study followed forty-four children (initially 22-40 months), who were observed in natural peer interactions at their daycare centers during a two-month period in each of three con-secutive years. 3. 3. Beslutsfattande i klinisk verksamhet : En studie om sjuksköterskans beslutsfattande i praktiken

    Författare :Berith Hedberg; Sahlgrenska akademin vid Göteborgs univ. Institutionen för vårdpedagogik; []
    Nyckelord :decision-making; nursing practice; decision-making tools; environmental elements; interviews; participated observation; content analysis;

    Sammanfattning : The overall aim of the project was to investigate how decision-making is expressed by experienced nurses in practice. A research questions were to describe how nurses make decisions of measures in practice and another research question were to explore contextual elements related to decision-making in nursing practice. 4. 4. Real World Data on Driver Behaviour in Accidents and Incidents: Evaluating data collection and analysis methods for car safety development

    Författare :Emma Tivesten; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Mail survey questionnaire; Driver safety issues; Driver behaviour; Naturalistic driving study; Statistical analysis; Car safety development; Contributing factors; Case study; Incident causation;

    Sammanfattning : Real world data is important for safety development within the road transportation system. For car safety development in particular, methods to collect and analyse real world data on driver behaviour from normal driving, incidents and accidents are needed to address safety in driving. 5. 5. Autism Spectrum Disorders: cognitive aspects and preventions

    Författare :Åsa Lundholm-Hedvall; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; autism spectrum disorders; cognition; intervention; children;

    Sammanfattning : Aim: The overarching aims of this thesis were to (a) gain further insight into the developmental/cognitive aspects of autism spectrum disorders (ASD) in young children, and (b) assess outcome after interventions of varying intensity. Methods: In a prospectively designed longitudinal naturalistic study, 208 preschool children with ASD were comprehensively assessed - including with a variety of cognitive tests and other structured neurodevelopmental/adaptive interviews, observation schedules and questionnaires - before start of intervention and at the end of intervention after two years.
