  1. 1. Functional Programming for Embedded Systems

    Författare :Abhiroop Sarkar; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Embedded Systems; Timing; Concurrency; Functional Programming; Virtual Machine; Language Runtime;

    Sammanfattning : Embedded Systems application development has traditionally been carried out in low-level machine-oriented programming languages like C or Assembler that can result in unsafe, error-prone and difficult-to-maintain code. Functional programming with features such as higher-order functions, algebraic data types, polymorphism, strong static typing and automatic memory management appears to be an ideal candidate to address the issues with low-level languages plaguing embedded systems. 2. 2. Information Systems Actability : Understanding Information Technology as a Tool for Business Action and Communication

    Författare :Pär J. Ågerfalk; Göran Goldkuhl; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; information systems; information systems actability; Internet-based information systems; language action perspective; Information technology; Informationsteknologi;

    Sammanfattning : This dissertation is devoted to a perspective from which IT-based information systems are conceived as information technological artefacts intended for business action and communication. The perspective has been made concrete through the concept of information systems actability, which is the main concept under scrutiny. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Developing and Evaluating Language Tools for Writers and Learners of Swedish

    Författare :Ola Knutsson; Kerstin Severinson Eklundh; Viggo Kann; Teresa Cerratto Pargman; Lars Ahrenberg; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; interactive learning systems; error; feedback; human-computer interaction; grammar checking; grammaticality judgments; parsing; second language learning; Swedish; evaluation; user studies; language technology; computer assisted language learning; writing; language tools; interaktiva lärsystem; fel; återkoppling; grammatikkontroll; språkverktyg; människa-datorinteraktion; skrivande; andraspråksinlärning; grammatikalitetsbedömning; parsning; Language technology; Språkteknologi;

    Sammanfattning : Skrivande och skrivet språk är idag en viktig del av många människors liv, i datorns ordbehandlare, i e-postprogram och i chattkanaler på Internet. Skrivet språk har blivit mer eller mindre en förutsättning för människors dagliga kommunikation. Denna utveckling av samhället leder till ökade behov av att på olika sätt hantera text. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Inductive Dependency Parsing of Natural Language Text

    Författare :Joakim Nivre; Walter Daelemans; Växjö universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; natural language parsing; dependency parsing; memory-based learning; treebank parsing; Systems engineering; Systemteknik; Computer and Information Sciences Computer Science; Data- och informationsvetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis investigates new methods for syntactic parsing of unrestricted natural language text under requirements of robustness and disambiguation. A parsing system is required to assign to every sentence in a text at least one analysis (robustness) and at most one analysis (disambiguation). LÄS MER

  5. 5. CALL of the Wild : Using language technology in the second language classroom

    Författare :Petter Karlström; Robert Ramberg; Teresa Cerratto-Pargman; Philip Hubbard; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Computer Assisted Language Learning; Human-Computer Interaction; Interaction Design; Language Technology; Sociocultural Theory; Computer and systems science; Data- och systemvetenskap; Man-Machine-Interaction MMI ; människa-maskin-interaktion mmi ;

    Sammanfattning : Technology that analyzes written human language displays compelling possibilities for computer assisted language learning (CALL). Applications may be designed to examine second language students’ free text production in order to suggest improvements, draw attention to selected linguistic elements, provide examples from native language use, etc. LÄS MER
