  1. 1. Convergence in mixed reality-virtuality environments : facilitating natural user behavior

    Författare :Daniel Johansson; Leo J. de Vin; Morten Fjeld; Örebro universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Mixed reality. augmented reality; augmented virtuality; head mounted display; omnidirectional floor; natural interface; telepresence; Datalogi; Computer and Systems Science;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis addresses the subject of converging real and virtual environments to a combined entity that can facilitate physiologically complying interfaces for the purpose of training. Based on the mobility and physiological demands of dismounted soldiers, the base assumption is that greater immersion means better learning and potentially higher training transfer. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Particle Emissions from Ships

    Författare :Maria Zetterdahl; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; LNG; marine fuel; fuel sulphur content; particle emission; sulphur emission control area; aromatics; SECA; heavy fuel oil; marine diesel oil; liquefied natural gas; ship emission;

    Sammanfattning : Since 1st of January 2015 ships operating in sulphur emission control areas (SECAs) have to use marine fuels with a fuel sulphur content less than 0.1 %m/m. This regulation forces the ship owners to make a fuel shift and use low-sulphur marine fuel oils, use alternative fuels or use scrubbers on-board their ships. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Assessing Mineral Resource Scarcity in a Circular Economy Context

    Författare :Hampus André; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; resource-efficiency; area of protection - natural resources; electric and electronic equipment; supply risk; scarce metals; criticality assessment; material flow analysis; life cycle assessment; circular economy; complex products;

    Sammanfattning : Due to humanity’s dependence on metal resources there are growing concerns regarding impacts related to their potential scarcity, both for current and future generations. The vision of a more circular economy suggests that extending the functional use of metals through measures aiming for resource-efficiency (RE) such as increasing technical lifetime, repairing and recycling could reduce mineral resource scarcity. 4. 4. Mechanisms regulating Natural Killer Cell Cytotoxicity

    Författare :Hanna van Ooijen; Björn Önfelt; Karl-Johan Malmberg; Karolin Guldevall; Morgan Huse; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Natural Killer cell; Live-cell microscopy; Single cell; 3D; Microwell;

    Sammanfattning : Over the last 50 years, cancer survival rates have steadily improved thanks to earlier detection and novel treatment regimens. For example, drugs that act on the immune system, so-called immunotherapy, have drastically increased the prospect of survival for patients suffering from some of the most aggressive cancer types including advanced malignant melanoma. 5. 5. Pathways to deep decarbonisation of carbon-intensive industry in the European Union - Techno-economic assessments of key technologies and measures

    Författare :Johan Rootzén; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Cement; CCS; Supply chain; Carbon-intensive industry; Iron and steel; Emission reduction; Scenario analysis; Carbon dioxide; Costs; Refinery;

    Sammanfattning : By Year 2050, the EU has committed itself to reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 80%–95%relative to the levels in 1990, so as to contribute to global efforts to limit the long-term globalaverage temperature increase to.... LÄS MER
