This study is the first dissertation where the genre of reportage (in the U.S. classified as literary journalism) is systematically mapped with the help of narratology. This dissertation examines three family history research experiences as public pedagogical spaces, analysing the narratives presented and participants’ negotiations with these. In the context of enhanced digitalisation and rapidly developing technologies, disturbances in the form of pandemics, hackers, and wars remind us of the instability of the present, raising existential questions and reinforcing the desire to anchor oneself in the past. The purpose of this dissertation is to examine to what extent the dramatic work of Bernard-Marie Koltès could serve as a basis for ethical reflections. The main object of the study is Koltès' construction of his characters by certain narrative techniques embedded in the dramatic structure and energizing the interpersonal conflicts. LÄS MER
