    Sammanfattning : The chemical bond – a corner stone in science and a prerequisite for life – is the focus of this thesis. Fundamental and applied aspects of chemical bonding are covered including the development of new computational methods for the characterization and rationalization of chemical interactions. LÄS MER

  2. 12. Formation and Characterization of DNA Concatemers for Single Molecule Mechanism Studies

    Författare :Lu Sun; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; concatemers; hybridization; DNA; gel electrophoresis; self-assembly; constructs; nanotechnology;

    Sammanfattning : Well known as genetic information carrier, DNA however, in the past three decade experienced a revolution to become a fashionable fabrication material in nanotechnology as a consequence of the high predictability and accuracy of base-paring recognition. Although DNA can be constructed in many fancy 2D and 3D structures, this thesis work focused on constructing one-dimension linear DNA concatemers in order to study sequence specific DNA-ligand binding at the single-molecule level. 3. 13. Development of Nanoimprint Lithography for Applications in Electronics, Photonics and Life-sciences

    Författare :Patrick Carlberg; Fasta tillståndets fysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Mikroelektronik; Microelectronics; Teknik; ballistic; Technological sciences; Fysik; Physics; nanowire; TBJ; cantilever; IDA electrode; sensors; life-science; lift-off; patterning media; anti-sticking; mold; stamp; process development; thermal imprint; nanoimprint lithography; Biotechnology; Bioteknik; nanotechnology; polymer; nanostructure;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis describes different aspects of nanotechnology manufacturing with nanoimprint lithography (NIL), a relatively new nanofabrication tool capable of high resolution and high throughput. Surface structure creation with NIL is based on mechanical deformation of the patterning material. LÄS MER

  4. 14. Self-assembly Strategies for Functional DNA Nanostructures

    Författare :John Tumpane; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; carbon nanotube; polarised spectroscopy; nanotechnology; self-assembly; orientation; lipid membrane; gel electrophoresis; DNA;

    Sammanfattning : The technological revolution of the twentieth century was famously subject to Moore’s law which related the rate of growth to the ability to scale-down the size of the components – size matters. Several decades later we are, however, approaching the limit of what is possible with silicon wafers. LÄS MER
