21. The effect of microstructure and temperature on the atmospheric corrosion of Mg-Al alloys
Sammanfattning : The NaCl-induced atmospheric corrosion behavior of the Mg-Al alloy AM50 produced by rheo-casting (RC) and high pressure die casting (HPDC) techniques was studied in the laboratory. The exposures were performed at 95% RH in the absence and presence of 400 ppm CO2 at 22, 4 and -4ºC. In parallel, 99.97%Mg was investigated as reference. LÄS MER
22. Corrosion protection and nanomechanical properties of waterborne acrylate-based coating with and without nanocellulose on carbon steel
Sammanfattning : Corrosion protection is commonly achieved by applying a thin polymer coating on metal surfaces. In this doctoral thesis, a waterborne hydroxyacrylate-melamine copolymer coating was used for this purpose. The first step was to find the optimal curing conditions. LÄS MER
23. Structure and stability of liposomes : Interactions with micelle- forming surfactants
Sammanfattning : The stability of phospholipid lipomes interacting with micelle-forming surfactants was studied under physiological conditions (150 mM NaCl and pH=7.4 unless otherwise stated) mainly by use of cryo-TEM and fluorescence. LÄS MER
24. Ammonium removal from municipal wastewater with application of ion exchange and partial nitritation/Anammox process
Sammanfattning : Nitrogen removal from municipal wastewater with application of Anammox process offers cost reduction, especially if it is combined with maximal use of organic content of wastewater for biogas production. In this study a new technology is proposed, which is based on ammonium concentration from municipal wastewater by ion exchange followed by biological removal of ammonium from the concentrated stream by partial nitritation/Anammox process. 25. Cardiac abnormalities in chronic kidney disease
Sammanfattning : Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a global health problem associated with increased risk of mortality and development of end-stage renal disease (ESRD). Cardiovascular diseases are the leading cause of morbidity and mortality even before the development of ESRD. LÄS MER
