    Sammanfattning : Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) is an autoimmune disease, characterized by the presence of anti-nuclear antibodies and the formation of nucleic acid containing immune complexes (ICs), which can cause organ damage by deposition in tissues. ICs strongly trigger the plasmacytoid dendritic cells (pDCs) to produce interferon (IFN)-α, which potently activates the immune system. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : Dendritic cells are key players during HIV pathogenesis, and shape both the immediate immune response at the site of infection as well as directing the adaptive immune response against the virus. HIV has developed a plethora of immune evasion mechanisms that hijack dendritic cell functions, suppressing their ability to mount an accurate immune response and exploiting them for efficient viral transfer to target T cells.
