  1. 16. T Cells and NK Cells in Coronary Artery Disease : Longitudinal and methodological studies in humans

    Författare :Karin Backteman; Jan Ernerudh; Lena Jonasson; Joachim Lundahl; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Coronary artery disease (CAD) is the leading cause of death worldwide and most often due to atherosclerosis. Atherosclerosis is a chronic inflammatory process that involves the arteries, inclouding those that supply blood to the heart muscle. LÄS MER

  2. 17. Phagocyte-induced apoptosis in natural killer cells and T cells. Role of reactive oxygen species and regulation by histamine

    Författare :Markus Hansson; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Malignant tumors frequently contain an infiltrate of leukocytes, usually cells of the monocyte/macrophage lineage and lymphocytes with anti-tumor activity such as natural killer (NK) cells and T cells. Clinical and experimental data suggest that monocytes/macrophages in tumors inhibit functions of adjacent NK cells/T cells and thereby suppress lymphocyte-dependent anti-tumor immunity. LÄS MER

  3. 18. Gene therapy of neuroblastoma

    Författare :Yvonne Arvidsson; Göteborgs universitet; []

    Sammanfattning : Aims: The survival of children with advanced stages of neuroblastoma has not improved significantly during recent years. Therefore additional treatments based on other modalities need to be developed. The objective of this thesis was to investigate the possibility to develop gene therapy of neuroblastoma. LÄS MER

  4. 19. Influences of paratendinous innervation and non-neuronal substance P in tendinopathy : studies on human tendon tissue and an experimental model of Achilles tendinopathy

    Författare :Gustav Andersson; Patrik Danielson; Sture Forsgren; Håkan Alfredson; David A. Hart; Umeå universitet; []

    Sammanfattning : Pain of the musculoskeletal system is one of the most common reasons for people seeking medical attention, and is also one of the major factors that prevent patients from working. Chronic tendon pain, tendinopathy, affects millions of workers world-wide, and the Achilles tendon is an important structure often afflicted by this condition. LÄS MER

  5. 20. The neuronal and non-neuronal substance P, VIP and cholinergic systems in the colon in ulcerative colitis

    Författare :Maria Jönsson; Sture Forsgren; Örjan Norrgård; Johan D Söderholm; Umeå universitet; []

    Sammanfattning : Ulcerative colitis (UC) is a chronic relapsing inflammatory bowel disease. Neuropeptides, especially vasoactive intestinal peptide (VIP) and substance P (SP), have long been considered to play key roles in UC. Among other effects, these neuropeptides have trophic and growth-modulating as well as wound-healing effects. LÄS MER
