  1. 11. Miniaturized, Membrane-Based and Environmentally Green Sample Preparation Systems: Applications for Biological and Environmental Aqueous Samples

    Författare :Thaer Barri; Centrum för analys och syntes; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Analytisk kemi; Analytical chemistry; Free concentration; Exhustive extraction; Microporous membrane liquid-liqid extraction; Miniaturization; Supported liquid membrane extraction; Environmental chemistry; Miljökemi;

    Sammanfattning : Contemporary advancements in miniaturization of analytical systems have advantageously fostered development, automation, and hyphenation of a variety of sample preparation techniques. Among several downscaled extraction designs, porous synthetic polymeric membranes (such as flat sheet (FS) or hollow fiber (HF)) have been utilized for membrane-based extraction, separating two aqueous phases (as in supported liquid membrane (SLM) extraction or one aqueous phase and another organic phase (as in microporous membrane liquid-liquid extraction (MMLLE)). 2. 12. Strategy for Monitoring Organic Pollutants in Waste Water with Focus on Improved Sample Preparation

    Författare :Staffan Bergström; Centrum för analys och syntes; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Miljökemi; Environmental chemistry; Analytisk kemi; Analytical chemistry; Membrane extraction; Sample preparation; Organic pollutants; Monitoring strategy; Landfill leachate;

    Sammanfattning : Strategy and methodology is presented for the analysis of organic pollutants, with the purpose of evaluating treatment procedures for landfill leachate. Today, many investigations of treatment procedures are focusing on the measurement of water quality parameters such as chemical and biochemical oxygen demand, (COD and BOD), and total organic carbon, (TOC) when assessing the organic compounds in waste waters. 3. 13. Methodologies to assess the fate of polar organic compounds in aquatic environments

    Författare :Jörgen Magnér; Tomas Alsberg; Dag Broman; Jan-Åke Jönsson; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Passive equilibrium sampler; Absorbent; Polar organic compounds; Liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry; Partitioning coefficient; Fulvic acid; Sediment; PEVAC; Bag-SPE; Solid phase extraction; Pharmaceuticals; Wastewater; Sea water; UPLC-QToF; Environmental chemistry; Miljökemi; Analytical chemistry; Analytisk kemi; Applied Environmental Science; tillämpad miljövetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : Polar organic compounds (POCs) are chemicals with polar functional groups in their structure. The functional groups make the compounds hydrophilic and less prone to partition with biota. However, the knowledge of their fate is limited due to difficulties associated with their measurements. 4. 14. The accessibility and chemical activity of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in soil

    Författare :Fredrik Reichenberg; Centrum för analys och syntes; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Analytisk kemi; Analytical chemistry; Remediation; Bioavailability; Soil and sediment pollution; Environmental chemistry; Miljökemi;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis proposes the use of two concepts: accessibility and chemical activity. Accessibility describes the mass quantity of PAHs that is or can become available within a given time span and under given conditions. LÄS MER

  5. 15. Development of Fast, Quantitative, Selective and Bioavailability-Predictive Extraction Procedures for Determination of Halogenated POPs in Environmental Matrices

    Författare :Rikard Westbom; Centrum för analys och syntes; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Environmental chemistry; Analytisk kemi; Analytical chemistry; sample preparation; pressurized liquid extraction; persistent organic pollutants; supercritical fluid extraction; Miljökemi;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis concerns the analysis of anthropogenic substances of the compound class known as persistent organic pollutants (POPs). Sample preparation perspectives for the analysis of POPs in the environmental matrices water, soils and sediments are presented. LÄS MER
