21. Solitary waves and enhanced incoherent scatter ion lines
Sammanfattning : This thesis addresses solitary waves and their significance for auroral particle acceleration, coronal heating and incoherent scatter radar spectra. Solitary waves are formed due to a balance of nonlinear and dispersive effects. LÄS MER
22. Becoming a physics teacher : Disciplinary discourses and the development of professional identity
Sammanfattning : In this Licentiate thesis I examine the system of physics teacher education. Physics teacher education is important because it is one of the main ways to influence how physics is taught in schools. LÄS MER
23. Tailoring Fluorescent Probes for Organelle-Specific Imaging and Sensing
Sammanfattning : Exploring and visualizing biological and pathological processes in living cells are useful for both fundamental research and applications. An understanding on the molecular level for these processes with focus on tracking biomarkers, collecting information about their surroundings, and uncovering essential molecular pathways and functions in live cells are of vital interest for cell biological study and clinical diagnosis application. 24. Three-nucleon forces in nuclear physics simulations
Sammanfattning : The aim of this licentiate thesis is to evaluate the normal-ordered two-body (NO2B)-approximation as a computationally promising way to incorporate realistic three-nucleon forces (3NFs) in nuclear many-body simulations using the no-core-shell-model. The existence and importance of 3NFs is predicted in chiral effective field theories of the strong-nuclear force. LÄS MER
25. Nonlinear Beam Physics
Sammanfattning : A condensed treatment of conventional beam physics (both linear and nonlinear) is given for the non-expert; this constitutes a minimum knowhow for constructing simulations of rudimentary beamlines. The criteria for an ideal nonlinear charged-particle simulation algorithm are then presented, leading to the derivation of a symplectic, explicit, Lorentz-covariant integrator. LÄS MER
