16. Studies of Hyaluronan and Related Structures by NMR Spectroscopy
Sammanfattning : Hyaluronan (HA) is a natural polysaccharide in the glycosaminoglycan (GAG) family with repeating units of N-acetylglucosamine (GlcNAc) and glucuronic acid (GlcA), which are linked by β(1→4) and β(1→3) glycosidic linkages. HA has many important regulatory functions in the human body, but comprehension of its structure-function relationship remains limited. LÄS MER
17. Structural and interaction studies of polysaccharides by NMR spectroscopy
Sammanfattning : In this thesis, polysaccharides of different origins have been investigated by NMR spectroscopy with regard to structures and interactions. In paper I, hydrogen bonding interactions in kappa- (κ) and kappa/mu- (κ/μ) hybrid carrageenan oligosaccharides were studied by NMR spectroscopy of hydroxy protons. LÄS MER
18. Studies of carbohydrate structure, properties and interactions by nmr spectroscopy
Sammanfattning : In this thesis the structure, properties and interactions of different types of carbohydrates were investigated by NMR spectroscopy. The structures of kappa- (κ) and kappa/mu- (κ/μ) carrageenan oligosaccharides were analyzed by studying the hydroxy protons. LÄS MER
19. Multivariate spectroscopic methods for the analysis of solutions
Sammanfattning : In this thesis some multivariate spectroscopic methods for the analysis of solutions are proposed. Spectroscopy and multivariate data analysis form a powerful combination for obtaining both quantitative and qualitative information and it is shown how spectroscopic techniques in combination with chemometric data evaluation can be used to obtain rapid, simple and efficient analytical methods. 20. Unveiling catalytic species in suspension/solution-based reactions by in situ X-ray absorption spectroscopy
Sammanfattning : The palladium (Pd) and ruthenium (Ru) species in several attractive catalysts have been probed using X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS). The study of catalyst evolution in suspension- and solution-based reactions was the primary aim. It was achieved by performing in situ XAS experiments on Pd and Ru over the course of the reactions.
