11. Caulobacter crescentus folding machines at the interface of inheritance, cell division, and energy metabolism
Sammanfattning : All living cells must perform essential biological processes while monitoring and responding to environmental cues. Bacteria are accessible experimental systems in which to study the function of conserved central processes. LÄS MER
12. Bioinformatic Methods in Metagenomics
Sammanfattning : Microbial organisms are a vital part of our global ecosystem. Yet, our knowledge of them is still lacking. Direct sequencing of microbial communities, i.e. LÄS MER
13. The Genus Amomum (Zingiberaceae) in Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam : Taxonomy and Ethnobotany, with Special Emphasis on Women's Health
Sammanfattning : The species of Amomum Roxb. (Zingiberaceae) in Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam are revised. Thirty-five species and two varieties are recognised, all names are typified, and detailed descriptions and a key are provided. Nine new species are described and one species is validated. LÄS MER
14. Botanical Repellents and Pesticides Traditionally Used Against Haematophagous Invertebrates in Lao PDR
Sammanfattning : Haematophagous parasites and disease vectors such as leeches, ticks, mites, lice, bed bugs, mosquitoes, and myiasis-causing fly larvae are common health problems in Lao Peoples Democratic Republic (Lao PDR). A main aim of my field work in Lao PDR in 2006-2010 was to document traditional knowledge among different ethnic groups about plants that people use to repel or to kill blood-feeding invertebrates. 15. Species Limits and Systematics in Some Passerine Birds
Sammanfattning : I use morphological, vocal, molecular, behavioural, ecological and distributional data to re-evaluate the systematics of three passerine bird groups, the Mirafraassamica complex (bush-larks), the genus Seicercus ("spectacled-warblers"; with emphasis on the the S. burkii complex) and the genus Motacilla (wagtails).
