  1. 1. Bandit Methods for Network Optimization : Safety, Exploration, and Coordination

    Författare :Filippo Vannella; Alexandre Proutiere; Vincent Tan; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Electrical Engineering; Elektro- och systemteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The increasing complexity of modern mobile networks poses unprecedented challenges to their optimization. Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) need to control a large number of network parameters to satisfy the users’ demands. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Enhancing IT Systems Cyber Resilience through Threat Modeling : Cyber Security Analysis of Enterprise Systems and Connected Vehicles

    Författare :Wenjun Xiong; Robert Lagerström; Simon Hacks; Jelena Zdravkovic; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Cyber Security; Threat Modeling; Attack Simulations; IT Systems; Security Analysis; Electrical Engineering; Elektro- och systemteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Information technology (IT) systems are growing in complexity and are becoming more and more connected. Such connected systems can increase flexibility and productivity while also introducing security threats. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Optimisation and Incentive Mechanisms for Robust Generation Dispatch and Capacity Investment in Electricity Markets

    Författare :Lamia Varawala; György Dán; Mohammad Reza Hesamzadeh; José Manuel Arroyo; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Optimal power flow; Look-ahead; $N-k$ contingency criterion; Renewable energy; Environmental externalities; Electricity generation capacity; Strategic behaviour; Incentives;

    Sammanfattning : Power systems constitute a large-scale critical infrastructure and therefore, it is crucial that their operation be robust to deviations from normal functioning of its independent components. Furthermore, due to their large size, any inefficiencies in electricity market design can be very costly and therefore, must be optimised. LÄS MER

  4. 4. A Needs-Based Approach towards Fostering Long-term Engagement with Energy Feedback among Local Residents

    Författare :Aram Mäkivierikko; Fredrik Gröndahl; Olga Kordas; Hossein Shahrokni; Paula M. Bögel; Cristian M Bogdan; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Energy feedback; Consumer engagement; Energy behaviour; Social networks; Smart grids; Design principles; Energiåterkoppling; konsumentengagemang; Energibeteende; Sociala nätverk; Smarta elnät; Designprinciper; Industrial Ecology; Industriell ekologi;

    Sammanfattning : In order to reach the current climate goals, energy consumption needs to decrease in all sectors, including households, which produce 20% of the European emissions. However, it is difficult to increase residents’ engagement in their household electricity consumption as it is an ‘invisible’ form of energy, the monetary incentives are often too small and environmental incentives are not very effective.     Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; Trade; Early modern history; Baltic Sea region; Credit networks; Urban history; Embedded economy; Network analysis; Town councils; Spatiality; Mobility; Economic history; Handel; Tidigmodern historia; Östersjöregionen; Kreditnätverk; Urbanhistoria; Inbäddad ekonomi; Nätverksanalys; Städernas råd; Spatialitet; Mobilitet; Ekonomisk historia; Historical Studies; Historiska studier; Östersjö- och Östeuropaforskning; Baltic and East European studies;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis aims to clarify how the merchant networks involved in the trade across the Baltic Sea interplayed with and contributed to create the economic culture of the Baltic Sea region. This is achieved by examining the economic, social, spatial and political aspects of the trade networks in relation to the social organisation of the early modern towns of Stockholm, Lübeck, Malmö and Reval (Tallinn) in the 16th century.
