1. The Dark Night : St John of the Cross and Eastern Orthodox Theology
Sammanfattning : Russian émigré theologian Vladimir Lossky's (1903-1958) claims in his classic study of 1944, The Mystical Theology of Eastern Church, that the emphasis on the experience of spiritual separation from God in Western mystical theology ultimately goes back to how Latin churches began to add the word filioque (and-of-the-Son) to the Nicene-Constantinopolitan Creed in the sixth century. In his explanation Lossky discusses the theology of the Greek fathers suggesting that the idea of the Spirit’s generation from both the Father and the Son both builds upon and generates philosophical ideas that conflict with the possibility of receiving personal experiential knowledge of God. 2. The art of love : A study of Dag Hammarskjöld's mystical theology
Sammanfattning : This thesis investigates the roots of Hammarskjöld's interest in Mystical Theology bytracing both Vägmärken and the Public Papers of the Secretaries-General (1953-1961)back to the original text material found in Hammarskjöld's private libraries, at theKungliga Biblioteket in Stockholm, and at his Cottage in Backåkra, Skåne. The first partof the thesis seeks to illustrate the principle concepts of Mystical Theology by recourseto the Mystical theologian Jean Gerson, and those writers on Mystical Theology whowere available to Hammarskjöld during his formative years. Sammanfattning : The thesis provides a discussion of the ecclesiology of the French Roman-Catholic theologian Henri de Lubac SJ (1896-1991) by showing how this is determined by his method of fundamental theology. Sammanfattning : The purpose of this study has been to be able to discern the core characteristics of the spirituality of Lars Levi Læstadius (1800-1861), minister of the Church of Sweden and originator of a large revival movement that carries his name.
