1. Multi-Disciplinary Conceptual Design of Future Jet Engine Systems
Sammanfattning : This thesis describes various aspects of the development of a multi-disciplinary aero engine conceptual design tool, TERA2020 (Techno-economic, Environmental and Risk Assessment for 2020), based on an explicit algorithm that considers: engine performance, engine aerodynamic and mechanical design, aircraft design and performance, emissions prediction and environmental impact, engine and airframe noise, and production, maintenance and direct operating costs. As part of this research effort, a newly-derived semi-empirical NOx correlation for modern rich-burn single-annular combustors is proposed. 2. Implementing PLM Across Organisations - For multi-disciplinary and cross-functional product development
Sammanfattning : Nearly all product development organisations and processes have information as their key deliverable. The immense quantities of information being produced and utilised along the development lifecycle together with the commonly large number of IT tools used highlights the importance of continuously keeping the content in the overall information management system in order. 4. What have residents got to do with it? : Variations in energy use and energy-related behaviours in single-family houses
Sammanfattning : To achieve global energy goals, energy use in residential buildings must decrease. The implementation of technical measures is crucial but alone it is not sufficient; residents need to change their behaviour as well. LÄS MER
5. On Multi-Disciplinary Optimization in Engineer-to-Order Product Configuration
Sammanfattning : Customized products are becoming increasingly common, and increasingly important for maintaining a competitive advantage in certain industries. Being able to quickly and accurately respond to unique customer requirements can provide a competitive edge or even be the only path to survival. LÄS MER
