  1. 1. Systems Analysis for Eco-Industrial Development : Applied on Cement and Biogas Production Systems

    Författare :Roozbeh Feiz; Mats Eklund; Jonas Ammenberg; Olli Salmi; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; industrial ecology; eco-industrial development; multi-criteria analysis; life-cycle assessment; MCA; LCA; uncertainty management; systems analysis; industrial symbiosis; cement; biogas; cement production; biogas solutions;

    Sammanfattning : Our industrial systems are not sustainable—a major challenge which demands several types of responses. Eco-industrial development can be seen as such a response, with the goal to establish industrial systems that are both ecological and economical. Industrial Ecology is another closely related response. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Industrial Ecology and Development of Production Systems : Analysis of the CO2  Footprint of Cement

    Författare :Roozbeh Feiz; Mats Eklund; Jonas Ammenberg; Henrikke Baumann; Linköpings universitet; []

  3. 3. Understanding the Clean Development Mechanism and its dual aims : the case of China's projects

    Författare :Qie Sun; Ronald Wennersten; Nils Brandt; Magnus Enell; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Clean development mechanism CDM ; Climate change mitigation; Kyoto Protocol; Sustainable Development; China’s mitigation strategy; Cost benefit analysis CBA ; co-benefits; Multi-criteria analysis MCA ; Analytic Hierarchy Process AHP ; Environmental engineering; Miljöteknik; SRA - Energy; SRA - Energi;

    Sammanfattning : Having been running for over 10 years, the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) is considered an innovative and successful mitigation initiative. CDM has the dual aims of helping industrialised countries achieve compliance with their emission limitation and reduction commitments in a cost-effective way, while simultaneously assisting developing countries in sustainable development. 4. 4. Utilizing CO2 from biomethane production : Sustainability and climate performance

    Författare :Stephanie S. Cordova; Mats Eklund; Marcus Gustafsson; Niclas Svensson; Valentina Bisinella; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Biomethane; Carbon capture and utilization; CCU; CO₂ utilization;

    Sammanfattning : Biogas solutions offer many benefits for the environment and society, including organic waste treatment as well as being an enabler for energy and nutrient recovery. The products of anaerobic digestion are a biogas, which contains a share of 30 to 50% carbon dioxide (CO2) and 50 to 70% methane, and a liquid remanent, rich in nutrients. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Sustainable Energy Access for All : Initial tools to compare technology options and costs

    Författare :Francesco Fuso Nerini; Mark Howells; Hisham Zerriffi; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Energiteknik; Energy Technology;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis presents analytical advances to support quantitative insights into national and local policies for achieving energy access goals. The key objective is the creation of an analytical tool to compare technology options for achieving energy access goals and to estimate the cost of reaching those goals. LÄS MER
