1. Wastelands of difference? Urban nature and more-than-human difference in Berlin and Gothenburg
Sammanfattning : This thesis explores more-than-human entanglements of contemporary urban environments in order to develop a rearticulation of urban landscapes as spaces decidedly beyond the exclusively human. Taking its cue from the question “How do we live with urban difference today?,” such spaces, the thesis argues, emerge through, as well as change with, a variety of socio-ecological entwinements. 2. Holocene climate change and peatland dynamics in southern Sweden based on tree-ring analysis of subfossil wood from peat deposits
Sammanfattning : Dendrochronological analysis was applied to subfossil remains of Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris L.) buried in South Swedish peat deposits. LÄS MER
3. Middle and Upper Ordovician graptolites, trilobites, and biostratigraphy of Scania and Jämtland, Sweden
Sammanfattning : Graptolites and some trilobites from Middle–Upper Ordovician siliciclastic and calcareous rocks in Scania (Skåne), southern Sweden, and Jämtland, central Sweden, are described and discussed. Their stratigraphic distribution is discussed on the basis of new and old collections from outcrops and drill cores. LÄS MER
4. Engineering of alternative scaffold derived drug conjugates and fusion-toxins for targeted cancer therapy
Sammanfattning : Cancer is a major health problem, with premature death for many patients, and with a high monetary cost to society. The disease is complex to treat due to the many different types, but also because the disease-causing cells, that needs to be removed, are very similar to the normal cells. LÄS MER
5. Tree-limit ecotonal response to Holocene climate change in the Scandes Mountains of west-central Sweden
Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis was to reconstruct the Holocene vegetational and climatic development in the Sylarna-Storulvån area, western Jämtland, in the central Scandes Mountains. Temporal trends and fluctuations in the elevation and vegetational character of the tree-limit ecotone were studied mainly by means of pollen and plant macrofossil analysis of two lake sediment sequences (Lakes Stentjärn and Spåime), located above the present-day tree-limit.
