  1. 21. Asexual embryogenesis in plants

    Författare :Boel Mårtensson; Biologiska institutionen; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Systematic botany; two-phase partitioning; somatic embryogenesis; pollen embryogenesis; plasma membrane; peroxidase; Daucus carota isoperoxidase; Nicotiana tabacum; Ca2 transport; cell shape; calmodulin; taxonomy; morphology; phytogeography; chemotaxonomy. Physiology of nonvascular plants; Systematisk botanik; taxonomi; morfologi; kemotaxonomi. Växters fysiologi inte kärlväxter .;

    Sammanfattning : The capacity of somatic cells and pollen grains or microspores to undergo embryogenesis is an important property used in improvement and regeneration of plants. Furthermore, somatic embryogenesis as well as pollen embryogenesis show many similarities with zygotic embryogenesis and are, thus, good model systems. LÄS MER

  2. 22. Evolutionary Processes and Hybridization within the Peat Mosses, Sphagnum

Physiology of nonvascular plants; Systematisk botanik; growth rate; regeneration; evolution; Systematic botany; taxonomy; introgression; maternal inheritance; recombination; hybridizarion;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis was to reveal details of the interspecific hybridization among bryophytes as exemplified by Sphagnum capillifolium and S. quinquefarium. LÄS MER

  3. 23. Morphometric and molecular variation in the Nordic dogroses (Rosa Sect. Caninae, Rosaceae)

    Författare :Åsa Olsson; Biologiska institutionen; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Systematisk botanik; chemotaxonomy. Physiology of nonvascular plants; Genetic diversity; Geographic differentiation; Systematic botany; RAPDs; taxonomy; morphology; phytogeography; kemotaxonomi. Växters fysiologi inte kärlväxter .; taxonomi; morfologi;

    Sammanfattning : In the present thesis, I investigate the hierarchical structure of morphometric and molecular diversity within and between the Nordic dogroses (Rosa Sect. Caninae, Rosaceae). I also investigate patterns of geographic differentiation and taxonomic relationships within the group. LÄS MER

  4. 24. The spatial structure of genetic and morphometric variation in Corylus avellana (Betulaceae): pattern and scale

    Författare :Helena Persson; Biologiska institutionen; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; phytogeography; chemotaxonomy. Physiology of nonvascular plants; Systematisk botanik; taxonomi; morfologi; kemotaxonomi. Växters fysiologi inte kärlväxter .; taxonomy; morphology; Systematic botany; Öland; clonal structure; marginal and central populations; image analysis; aerial photographs; morphometric variation; allozymes; Corylus avellana; genetic variation;

    Sammanfattning : In the present thesis, I investigated the spatial structure of genetic and morphometric variation in the widespread wind-pollinated shrub Corylus avellana (L.) Betulaceae, hazel, and related the variation to geographic distribution and different spatial scales. LÄS MER

  5. 25. Genetic variation, polyploidy and hybridization in Scandinavian Anthericum ramosum and A. liliago (Anthericaceae)

    Författare :Gabrielle Rosquist; Biologiska institutionen; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Systematic botany; inbreeding depression; gene flow; introgression; hybridization; morphology; isozyme; allozyme; allele frequencies; population fragmentation; genetic diversity; geographic variation; Anthericum; Allopolyploidy; taxonomy; phytogeography; chemotaxonomy. Physiology of nonvascular plants; Systematisk botanik; taxonomi; morfologi; kemotaxonomi. Växters fysiologi inte kärlväxter .;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis, I investigate the differences in breeding system, levels of genetic variation and hierarchical structure of genetic diversity between Anthericum ramosum and A. liliago. The two species differ in ploidy level and flowering time, but have similar habitat preferences, reproductive biology and geographic distributions in Scandinavia. LÄS MER
