6. Computational investigation of interface structure and composition in cemented carbides at finite temperatures
Sammanfattning : WC-Co cemented carbides combine superb hardness with high toughness making them ideal for usage in high-speed machining of steels and in wear resistance tools. These excellent mechanical properties are to a large extent dependent on the microstructure and thus the interfacial properties of the material. LÄS MER
7. Trafiklaster på broar : Analys av insamlade och Monte Carlo genererade fordonsdata
Sammanfattning : This thesis begins with the description of background ,aims and goals of the project. Afterwards, a brief explanation of the probability theory and some probabilistic distribution functions that are used in this work are given. Then the concept of structural reliability is explained. 8. Improving accuracy of in situ gamma-ray spectrometry
Sammanfattning : Gamma-ray spectrometry measurements performed on site, or “in situ”, is a widely used and powerful method that can be employed both to identify and quantify ground deposited radionuclides. The purpose of this thesis is to improve the calibration of high purity germanium (HPGe) detectors for in situ measurements, and calculate the combined uncertainty and potential systematic effects. 9. Coarse-Grained Models of Ionic Solutions
Sammanfattning : Room-temperature ionic liquids (RTILs) are compounds composed entirely of ions, which are liquid at temperatures below 100 degrees Celsius. Their high ionic strength and strong coupling make them useful for a number of applications, e.g. as electrolytes in supercapacitors. LÄS MER
10. Noise Applications in Light Water Reactors with Traveling Perturbations
Sammanfattning : Neutron noise induced by perturbations traveling with the coolant of light water reactors (LWRs) is investigated. Different methods to simulate the effect of propagating perturbations are considered. The studies are performed in both open- and closed-loop systems and summarized in three chapters. LÄS MER
