    Sammanfattning : The mouse pancreas is a mixed exocrine and endocrine glandconsisting of three lobular compartments: the splenic, duodenal and gastric lobes. During embryogenesis, the pancreas forms from two progenitor populations located on the dorsal and ventral side of the primitive gut tube. LÄS MER

  2. 17. Molecular mechanisms involved in glioma cell interactions in vitro and studies of PDGF B transcript variants

    Författare :Susanne Heller; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Genetics; Tumor heterogeneity; glioma; differential display; PDGF B; Genetik; Clinical genetics; Klinisk genetik; Pathology; patologi;

    Sammanfattning : Glioblastoma multiforme is a malignant brain tumor characterized by heterogeneity.Interactions between heterogeneous tumor cells are supposed to affect the behavior of awhole tumor cell population. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : When a multicellular organism suffers damages to tissues/organs it heals itself by either substituting the lost cellular matrix by scar formation or by regenerating the lost tissue. Regeneration likely occurs by a recapitulation of the developmental process that formed the organ. LÄS MER

  4. 19. Roles of p16INk a and PDGF-B in glioma

    Författare :Lene Uhrbom; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Genetics; autocrine; glioma; INK4a; PDGF; Genetik; Clinical genetics; Klinisk genetik; Pathology; patologi;

    Sammanfattning : Gliomas are diffuse astrocytic tumors of the central nervous system (CNS) which usually affect adults. This thesis work has focused on molecular mechanisms of altered growth control in glioma, and the significance of two gene products belonging to pathways commonly affected in glioma, p16INK4a and PDGF-B, has been investigated in vitro and in vivo. 5. 20. Extracting Genomic Variations using Selector Technology

    Författare :Magnus Isaksson; Mats Nilsson; Radoje Drmanac; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Selector; Selector probe; Genetic variation; Resequencing; Targeted sequencing; copy-number variations; MLGA; Bioinformatics; Next generation sequencing; NGS; Amplified single molecule; ASM; Molecular medicine genetics and pathology ; Molekylär medicin genetik och patologi ; Genetics; Genetik; Molekylär medicin; Molecular Medicine;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis describes the development and use of a new class of molecular tools called Selector probes, and its potential for investigations of genetic variation. The Selector technology provides multiplex amplification of targeted DNA sequences with a high specificity, and an enrichment factor in the same order of magnitude as PCR. LÄS MER
