  1. 1. Performance Indicators. A performance prediction method for moisture safety design

    Författare :Veronica Yverås; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Artificial Neural Network; Performance prediction; Moisture safety;

    Sammanfattning : The aims of this research project is to develop and gain knowledge about a different approach to moisture safety design based on AI in order to attain healthy buildings and relate this new approach to current practice and prospective users. Secondary data (data produced for some other purpose) was used to train Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) to predict the performance of outdoor ventilated crawl-spaces regarding microbiological smell, mould and rot. 2. 2. Moisture Safety in Wood Frame Buildings - Blind evaluation of the hygrothermal calculation tool WUFI using field measurements and determination of factors affecting the moisture safety

    Författare :Solof Mundt Petersen; Avdelningen för Byggnadsfysik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Blind Validation; Moisture Safety; Hygrothermal Calcualtion Tool WUFI; Wood Frame Buildings;

    Sammanfattning : Due to increased awareness of climate change and higher energy costs, well-insulated buildings have become more common. Furthermore, interest in the use of wood in building to produce more carbon dioxide-efficient buildings has increased. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Field Measurements for Verification of the Impact of Renovation and Maintenance Measures on Buildings : - regarding Energy Efficiency, Indoor Environment and Moisture Safety

    Författare :Akram Abdul Hamid; Avdelningen för Byggnadsfysik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; renovation; maintenance; measures; field measurements; energy; moisture; ventilation; renovation; maintenance; measures; field measurements; energy; moisture; ventilation;

    Sammanfattning : Renovating the European building stock has for almost two decades been a matter of importance to the European Union. Reduction of energy use for existing buildings can be achieved through applying energy efficiency renovation measures. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Moisture Conditions in Exterior Wooden Walls and Timber During Production and Use

    Författare :Lars Olsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; laboratory test; MRD-index; moisture; driving rain; hysteresis; wood; precipitation; timber; weather barrier; mould growth; façade; wall; wind barrier; measurement; field test; mold;

    Sammanfattning : Thermal insulation of building envelopes has improved over the years. This means that building envelope have become more susceptible to defects, with an increased risk of moisture damage. The criteria for energy consumption have become more rigorous, but the shift should not lead to moisture problems. LÄS MER

  5. 5. A design-build contractor risk assessment framework for new technical solutions in the construction industry

    Författare :Charlotte Svensson Tengberg; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Moisture safety; Hygrothermal performance; risk assessment; Design–build contractor; Serial failure; New technical solutions;

    Sammanfattning : Design–build contractors are often challenged to introduce new technical solutions into construction projects. However, they might not have methods and resources required to avoid serial failure, which is defined as multiple cases of failure when a technical solution fails to sustain the performance requirements.
