  1. 1. Ontological Ordering : Achieving Audience in Internet Practice

    Författare :Emma Dahlin; Alexa Robertson; Trond Lundemo; Charles Ess; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; audience; ontological ordering; empirical philosophy; enactment; ontology; Science and Technology Studies; Media and Communication Studies; medie- och kommunikationsvetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : Against the backdrop of changing technological conditions of the contemporary media landscape, new questions arise regarding how audience can be can problematized and theorized. This dissertation seeks to shift the focus from conventional assumptions of what audience is to an empirical exploration of the specificities of the process through which audience is achieved in practice. 2. 2. “The World at Your Fingertips if You Know the Computer”: Agency, Information and Communication Technologies and Disability

    Författare :Rebecka Näslund; Elisabeth Berg; Åsa Gardelli; Sisse Finken; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Agency; Disability; Information and Communication Technologies; Intra-action; Material-discursive; Material Semiotics; Modes of ordering; Situated knowledges; Arbetsvetenskap; Human Work Science;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis focuses on the relationships between agency, Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) and people with disability (in various ages). The aim has been to create an understanding by describing and analysing, and as such, to develop knowledge of how people with disabilities experience agency, ICT, and disability in their everyday lives. 3. 3. The Influence of Interlayer Exchange Coupling on Magnetic Ordering in Fe-based Heterostructures

    Författare :Martin Pärnaste; Björgvin Hjörvarsson; Bryan Hickey; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Physics; magnetism; magnetic dimensionality; MOKE; magneto-optics; hydrogen loading; phase transitions; Fysik;

    Sammanfattning : Temperature dependent magnetization measurements were conducted on Fe-based heterostructures. A linear increase of the magnetic critical temperature with increasing Fe thickness was found for Fe/V superlattices with strong interlayer exchange coupling. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Samla samtid : Insamlingspraktiker och temporalitet på kulturhistoriska museer i Sverige

    Författare :Elin Nystrand von Unge; Lars Kaijser; Simon Ekström; Anne Eriksen; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; Collecting; museums; memory; heritage; temporality; contemporary; Insamling; museer; minne; kulturarv; temporalitet; samtid; Ethnology; etnologi;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis is a study of contemporary collecting practices at museums of cultural history in Sweden. The study takes off from two questions: How is this practice of collecting understood at museums of cultural history today, and how are these modes of collecting effected when museums explicitly collect the “present” rather than the “past”? The aim is to examine how the present day has been collected, what modes of ordering were activated, as well as what relational effects contemporary collecting has had on the knowledge-building processes within the practice. 5. 5. Light propagation and photonic functionalization of semi-ordered material (transparent wood)

    Författare :Adil Baitenov; Sergei Popov; Sergey Ponomarenko; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; light scattering; scattering material; hierarchical structure; FEM model; wood modification; random lasers; dye lasers; transparent wood; adsorption; diffusive media; Optics and Photonics; Optik och fotonik;

    Sammanfattning : Investigating novel materials requires understanding their chemical and optical properties, which allows for finding their uses through functionalization by chemical modification. In this thesis, we are focusing on a material with high anisotropic scattering - transparent wood. LÄS MER
