  1. 21. Cluster model of disordered systems : application to doped semiconductors and a simple model polymer

    Författare :Rolf G. Riklund; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis we study with an extended cluster model calculation the combined effect of disorder and electron-electron interaction on the electronic structure of doped semiconductors and a simple model polymer chain. First a one-band model using a Hartree calculation is compared to other authors result for the impurity band using less realistic Hamiltonians. LÄS MER

  2. 22. Partitioning of Drugs and Lignin Precursor Models into Artificial Membranes

    Författare :Elisabet Boija; Gunnar Johansson; Per Lundahl; Christine Lagerquist Hägglund; Marja-Liisa Riekkola; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Biochemistry; Bilayer disk; Capillary electrophoresis; Detergent; Drug; Electrostatic interaction; Hydrophobic interaction; Immobilized liposome chromatography; Lignin; Lignin precursor model; Liposome; Membrane model; Octanol water partitioning; Partitioning; Phospholipid; Phospholipid bilayer; Sterol; Biokemi;

    Sammanfattning : The main aim of this thesis was to characterize membrane-solute interactions using artificial membranes in immobilized liposome chromatography or capillary electrophoresis. The partitioning of a solute into a cell membrane is an essential step in diffusion across the membrane. LÄS MER

  3. 23. Modelling calving and sliding of Svalbard outlet glaciers : Spatio-temporal changes and interactions

    Författare :Dorothée Vallot; Rickard Pettersson; Veijo Pohjola; Ken Mattsson; Tómas Jóhannesson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; cryospheric science; glacier modelling; time-lapse imagery; undercutting; sliding inversion; discrete particle model; calving model; subglacial hydrology; sliding law; automatic detection method; calving events size and frequency; ocean interaction; melt water runoff; ice dynamics; ice flow model; Geovetenskap med inriktning mot naturgeografi; Earth Science with specialization in Physical Geography;

    Sammanfattning : Future sea level rise associated to global warming is one of the greatest societal and environmental challenges of tomorrow. A large part of the contribution comes from glaciers and ice sheets discharging ice and meltwater into the ocean and the recent worldwide increase is worrying. LÄS MER

  4. 24. Waves of fashion : The consuming production of management control

    Författare :Andreas Backlund Björke; Ulf Johanson; Stefan Tengblad; Mälardalens högskola; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Management control; SMEs; fashion; happiness; rhetoric; aesthetics; theorization; innovation; Business studies; Företagsekonomi; industriell ekonomi och organisation; Industrial Economics and Organisations;

    Sammanfattning : The responsiveness of organizational leaders regarding suggestions related to various managerial techniques has led to the coinage of the ‘management fashion’ idiom. It has been convincingly argued that phenomena like management control systems are prone to trends, and that such trends permeate into the daily life of managers through the use of persuasive rhetoric. 5. 25. Game-calibrated and user-tailored remote detection of emotions : A non-intrusive, multifactorial camera-based approach for detecting stress and boredom of players in games

    Författare :Fernando Bevilacqua; Henrik Engström; Per Backlund; Vittorio Scarano; Högskolan i Skövde; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; human-computer interaction; computer vision; non-obtrusive; remote sensing; affective computing; games; rPPG; Interaction Lab ILAB ; Interaction Lab ILAB ;

    Sammanfattning : Questionnaires and physiological measurements are the most common approach used to obtain data for emotion estimation in the field of human-computer interaction (HCI) and games research. Both approaches interfere with the natural behavior of users. LÄS MER
