  1. 1. The effectiveness of a full-mobility architecture for wireless mobile computing and personal communications

    Författare :George Yuejin Liu; Gerald Maguire; Randy Katz; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Mobile Computing; Mobile-API; Mobile Agent; Mobile Floating Agent; Intelligent Agent; Full-Mobility; Mobility Architecture; Mobility Awareness; Location Awareness; Location Prediction; Mobile Personal Communications.;

    Sammanfattning : The emergence of wireless mobile computing, especially the mobility of computers, introduces challenging new problems that were encountered in neither the design and implementation of conventional mobile networks or in fixed computer networks. A critical and challenging problem, for mobile computing and personal communications, is how to fully cope with the special characteristics of the mobile wireless environment, i. LÄS MER

  2. 2. A context-aware application mobility approach

    Författare :Dan Johansson; Christian Becker; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Application mobility; Context-Awareness; Peer-to-peer networking; Session mobility; Prototype evaluation; Pervasive Mobile Computing; Distribuerade datorsystem;

    Sammanfattning : Over the last two decades, mobile computing has gone from being a mere vision to becoming a reality, ubiquitously present in our everyday lives. There are different types of mobility, from user and terminal mobility, to mobility of services and sessions. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Urban design of winter cities : Winter season connectivity for soft mobility

    Författare :David Chapman; Kristina Nilsson; Agatino Rizzo; Agneta Larsson; Dag Kittang; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Urban form; urban design; seasonal climate variation; winter cities; climate change; Architecture; Arkitektur;

    Sammanfattning : All across the world the form of the built environment is playing a crucial role as enabler or inhibitor for urban outdoor activity such as soft mobility. Urban form can make it more attractive for people to be mobile outdoors and playing a role in the public life, or it can put people off venturing outside. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Mobility Management and Climate Change Policies

    Författare :Markus Robèrt; Folke Snickars; Tom Rye; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Strategic Sustainable Development SSD ; Backcasting; Greenhouse gas emissions; Traffic planning; Company travel planning; Mobility Management; Civil engineering and architecture; Samhällsbyggnadsteknik och arkitektur;

    Sammanfattning : Globally, the transport system faces a paradigmatic shift where, in addition to increased local traffic problems, climate change and depletion of fossil oil reserves will foster a successive transition to renewable fuels and a need for more resource-efficient mobility management and communication alternatives. Foresighted countries, cities or companies taking the lead in adapting to these tougher conditions might well not only solve those problems, but also turn the problems into business advantages. Sammanfattning : A wide variety of novel complementary-metal-oxide-semiconductor (CMOS) devices that are strong contenders for future high-speed and low-noise RF circuits have been evaluated by means of static electrical measurements and low-frequency noise characterizations in this thesis. These novel field-effect transistors (FETs) include (i) compressively strained SiGe channel pMOSFETs, (ii) tensile strained Si nMOSFETs, (iii) MOSFETs with high-k gate dielectrics, (iv) metal gate and (v) silicon-on-insulator (SOI) devices.
