1. MECHANISTIC INVESTIGATIONS OF TRANSITION METAL CATALYZED REACTIONS
Sammanfattning : Transition metal catalyzed reactions have had a large impact on the human progress for the last century. Several extremely important areas, such as the agricultural industry and the plastic industry, have benefited from this development. LÄS MER
2. Palladium-Catalysed Couplings in Organic Synthesis : Exploring Catalyst-Presenting Strategies and Medicinal Chemistry Applications
Sammanfattning : Palladium-catalysed coupling reactions have been embraced by synthetic chemists as one of the preferred means for smooth formation of new carbon-carbon bonds: a truly ubiquitous methodology of synthesizing complex molecules. This thesis describes the study of a series of palladium(0)-catalysed C2-arylations of a 1-cyclopentenyl ether, equipped with a chiral (S)-N-methyl-pyrrolidine auxiliary. 3. Palladium(0)-Catalyzed Synthesis of Spirocycles and Supercritical Chemistry using a Resistively Heated Flow Reactor
Sammanfattning : This doctoral thesis focusses on an effective and selective approach to the synthesis of spirocycles using palladium(0)-catalyzed Mizoroki-Heck reactions. In addition, selective and efficient chemistry was highlighted by the design and evaluation of a novel resistively heated system for continuous flow (CF) synthesis for high-temperature and high-pressure applications. 4. Palladium(0)-Catalyzed Spirocyclization and Carbonylation Reactions : Ligands Targeting the Angiotensin II Type 2 Receptor
Sammanfattning : Palladium(0)-catalyzed chemistry represents one of the most important methods for the construction of carbon-carbon bonds, which are ubiquitous in organic compounds. The first part of this thesis describes the palladium(0)-catalyzed diastereoselective Mizoroki-Heck reaction of Vince lactam-derived precursors for the formation of spiroindolines (paper I) and spirooxindoles, which are scaffolds present in several natural products with interesting biological activity. 5. Catalytic and Electrocatalytic Transformations with Palladium and Nickel : Scope and mechanistic investigations
Sammanfattning : The work presented in this thesis is based on methodology development and mechanistic investigations using heterogeneous palladium and nickel catalysts. Following the introduction (Chapter 1), Chapter 2 presents a summary of the synthesis and characterization of the MOF-supported Pd catalysts (Pd @ MOF) that are used in this thesis. LÄS MER
