    Sammanfattning : Background: Excessive menstrual bleeding, menorrhagia (i.e. > 80 nil loss of blood) is a com-mon gynecological problem in women of reproductive age, accounting for over 20% of visits to gynecology outpatient clinics. This dissertation analyzes the work’s composition, showing how it was shaped and reshaped in response to the dramatic events of the first two and a half decades of the twentieth century, and how it remains open and mirrors the ongoing development of history.
