  1. 11. Soil tillage influences on soil mineral nitrogen and nitrate leaching in Swedish arable soils

    Författare :Åsa Myrbeck; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; []
    Nyckelord :LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Leaching of nitrogen (N) is an unwanted effect of agriculture practices which contributes to eutrophication of surface waters. This thesis examined how soil tillage practices affect leaching losses of N from arable fields. LÄS MER

  2. 12. Mineral element contents in drinking water - aspects on quality and potential links to human health

    Författare :Ingegerd Rosborg; Avdelningen för kemiteknik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Teknik; Technological sciences; Naturvetenskap; Natural science; water treatment effects; hair concentrations; pH; magnesium; calcium; bicarbonate; drinking water; minerals;

    Sammanfattning : Mineral elements in drinking water have been in focus for more than a decade, especially as the habit of drinking bottled water has increased, not the least among young people. Minerals in drinking water have become more important since minerals in food, especially in vegetables, have decreased substantially the last decades. LÄS MER

  3. 13. Magnetic properties of magnetosomal greigite and factors influencing its occurrence and preservation in Baltic Sea Littorina sediments

    Författare :Maja Reinholdsson; Kvartärgeologi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Baltic Sea; deep basins; mineral magnetic properties; magnetotactic bacteria; magnetosomal greigite; laminated sapropels; organic carbon; geochemistry.;

    Sammanfattning : The Baltic Sea is one of the world’s largest brackish water environments and is today suffering from, for example, eutrophication, spreading hypoxia, accumulations of contaminants and invasive organisms. These problems exist due to a combination of natural features that makes the Baltic Sea a sensitive ecosystem (such as long water residence time, limited water exchange, large catchment area), and anthropogenic pressures on land, (such as agriculture and land-use changes, large human populations and industries) and in the sea (such as transport, fishing and bottom-trawling). 4. 14. Fissure-hosted mineral formation and metallogenesis in the Långban Fe-Mn-(Ba-As-Pb-Sb...) deposit, Bergslagen, Sweden

    Författare :Erik Jonsson; Ulf Hålenius; Tom Andersen; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; mineralogi; geologi; isotopgeokemi; mineraldiversitet; malmbildning; Palaeoproterozoikum; Bergslagen; Sverige; Earth sciences; Geovetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : The Långban deposit in the Bergslagen ore province is one of the most mineral-rich and complex localities on Earth. Yet, despite more than 100 years of research, much about its origin and evolution has remained unknown. LÄS MER

  5. 15. Manganese cycling in the Baltic Sea over the last ~8000 years: the influence of redox conditions on mineral formation and burial

    Författare :Conny Lenz; Kvartärgeologi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Baltic Sea; sediments; hypoxia; redox conditions; manganese;

    Sammanfattning : The Baltic Sea is one of the largest brackish water bodies in the world and is suffering extensive environmental issues caused by eutrophication and warming climate. A halocline in the water column divides more saline bottom water fed by inflows through the narrow connection with the North Sea from the surface waters and inhibiting exchange of oxygen between the two water masses.
