1. En känsla för det heliga : En undersökning av den samtida emotionsforskningens möjliga bidrag till religionsfilosofin
Sammanfattning : In this thesis I examine the possibility of critically using material from contemporary emotion theory to develop a fruitful model for understanding the potential epistemic relevance of emotions in religious contexts. The relevance of this thesis is mainly twofold: since religion is an emotional phenomenon, the possible normative epistemic role of emotions needs to be examined. LÄS MER
Sammanfattning : DNA-recognizing proteins are involved in a multitude of important life-processes. Therefore, it is of great interest to understand the underlying mechanisms that set the rules for sequence specific protein–DNA interactions. Previous attempts aiming to resolve these interactions have been focused on naturally occurring systems. LÄS MER
3. Microstructural, Mechanical and Tribological Characterisation of CVD and PVD Coatings for Metal Cutting Applications
Sammanfattning : The present thesis focuses on characterisation of microstructure and the resulting mechanical and tribological properties of CVD and PVD coatings used in metal cutting applications. These thin and hard coatings are designed to improve the tribological performance of cutting tools which in metal cutting operations may result in improved cutting performance, lower energy consumption, lower production costs and lower impact on the environment. Sammanfattning : Proteins are among the most abundant biological macromolecules. The cellular machinery is coupled to exact structural shape and properties of the more than 100 000 different proteins. Still, proteins can sometimes completely change their character and as a result trigger neuro degenerative disease. LÄS MER
Sammanfattning : This thesis seeks to critically evaluate religious naturalism as a position in the dialogue between science and religion. I seek to explicate the major topics of debate within religious naturalism (chapter 2), as well as the naturalistic and religious aspects of religious naturalism. LÄS MER
