  1. 16. The Effect of Processing Parameters and Alloy Composition on the Microstructure Formation and Quality of DC Cast Aluminium Alloys

    Författare :Majed Jaradeh; Torbjörn Carlberg; Lars Arnberg; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Aluminium wrought alloys; AA3xxx and 6xxx; Direct Chill Casting; Unidirectional Solidification; Bridgman technique; Process parameters; Microstructure; Composition modification; Thermal analysis; Inclusions; Metallographical investigations; Metallurgical process engineering; Metallurgisk processteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The objective of this research is to increase the understanding of the solidification behaviour of some industrially important wrought aluminium alloys. The investigation methods range from direct investigations of as-cast ingots to laboratory-scale techniques in which ingot casting is simulated. LÄS MER

  2. 17. On the Effect of Grain Size and Hardness on the Machinability of Superalloys and Chip Deformation

    Författare :Stefan Olovsjö; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Superalloys; Microstructure; Burr; Machinability; Waspaloy; Chip microstructure; Tool wear; Alloy 718;

    Sammanfattning : Superalloys are used in applications such as gas turbines, steam power plants and nuclear power systems that require good high temperature properties and/or exceptional corrosion resistance. Superalloys are classified as materials that are “difficult to machine”. In production machining is a most commonly occurring procedure. LÄS MER

  3. 18. On the microstructure and mechanical properties of Mg-Al alloys

    Författare :Haiping Cao; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Mg-AI; microstructure; mechanical properties; divorced degree; modeling; mould constraint; segregation band; TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIKVETENSKAP;

    Sammanfattning : The microstructural features and the mechanical properties of binary Mg-Al alloys have been investigated by using a gradient solidification technique. Homogeneous and nearly defect-free samples were produced under well controlled cooling conditions, through which the microstructural characteristics as well as the relationships between microstructure and mechanical properties in Mg-AI alloys were precisely defined. 4. 19. Structure-Control of the Rheological Behaviour of Particulate Gels

    Författare :Camilla Olsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; structure formation; potato amylopectin; structure deformation; rheology; particulate gels; image analysis; beta-lactoglobulin; fracture mechanics; microstructure;

    Sammanfattning : The focus of this thesis is the relation between the rheological and structural properties of mixed particulate gels, based on β-lactoglobulin, determined under both dynamic and static conditions. Rheological characteristics were recorded during formation of the gels, on set gels and during deformation and fracture of the gels, using viscoelastic measurements in shear and in compression and fracture mechanics in tension. 5. 20. Evaluation of UHT milk processed by direct steam injection and steam infusion technology

    Författare :Bozena Malmgren; Livsmedelsteknik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; sedimentation; gel formation; microstructure; TEM transmission electron microscopy; immunogold labelling; heat effects; Technological sciences; Teknik; Food and drink technology; Livsmedelsteknik; proteolysis; steam infusion; UHT milk; steam injection;

    Sammanfattning : UHT direct steam injection and steam infusion are widely used; however there is no comparison of their impact on milk components. This study evaluates the structural changes at different steps during the UHT processing of whole milk in a full-scale UHT plant by transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and particle size measurements, and follows the enzymatic activity.
