1. As-cast AZ91D Magnesium Alloy Properties- Effect of Microstructure and Temperature
Sammanfattning : Magnesium and magnesium alloys are used in a wide variety of structural applications including automotive, aerospace, hand tools and electronic industries thanks to their light weight, high specific strength, adequate corrosion resistance and good castability. Al and Zn are the primary alloying elements in commercial Mg alloys and commonly used in automotive industries. LÄS MER
2. Al-Si Cast Alloys - Microstructure and Mechanical Properties at Ambient and Elevated Temperatures
Sammanfattning : Swedish industry is a global leader in development and manufacture of automotive and aviation components where the usage of aluminium products is remarkable. In addition to manufacturing aluminium components, casting enables low-cost and low-emission production of complex geometry components with a range of sizes. LÄS MER
3. Al-Si Cast Alloys - Microstructure and Mechanical Properties at Ambient and Elevated Temperature
Sammanfattning : Aluminium alloys with Si as the major alloying element form a class of material providing the most significant part of all casting manufactured materials. These alloys have a wide range of applications in the automotive and aerospace industries due to an excellent combination of castability and mechanical properties, as well as good corrosion resistance and wear resistivity. 4. Microstructural finite element modeling of metals
Sammanfattning : The mechanical properties of metals have been investigated. This has been done by creating micromechanical models based onthe microstructural data available for the materials ofinterest. Thus, models containing a grain structure withappropriate constitutive equations have been created. LÄS MER
5. On the deformation behavior and cracking of ductile iron; effect of microstructure
Sammanfattning : This thesis focuses on the effect of microstructural variation on the mechanical properties and deformation behavior of ductile iron. To research and determine these effects, two grades of ductile iron, (i) GJS-500-7 and (ii) high silicon GJS-500-14, were cast in a geometry containing several plates with different section thicknesses in order to produce microstructural variation.
