  1. 1. Molecular regulation of microsomal triglyceride transfer protein gene, MTP : functional genetic studies in relation to cardiovascular disease

    Författare :Helena Ledmyr; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :Microsomal triglyceride transfer protein; polymorphism coronary heart disease; CHD; cardiac lipid metabolism; protein function; functional promoter studies;

    Sammanfattning : The microsomal triglyceride transfer protein, MTP, is expressed mainly in the liver, intestine and in the heart. It is crucial for the assembly and secretion of apob-containing lipoproteins, chylomicrons in the intestine and very-low density lipoproteins (VLDL) in the liver. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Growth hormone and PPARalpha in the regulation of genes involved in hepatic lipid metabolism

    Författare :Caroline Améen; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Growth hormone; insulin; SREBP-1; lipogenic enzymes; microsomal triglyceride transfer protein; PPARalpha; LXRalpha; triglycerides; liver;

    Sammanfattning : Growth hormone (GH) plays a key role in the regulation of lipid and lipoprotein metabolism. Its sexually dimorphic secretory pattern regulates many sex-differentiated functions in the liver, such as triglyceride synthesis and VLDL secretion. LÄS MER

  3. 3. The assembly and secretion of ApoB containing lipoproteins

    Författare :Pia Stillemark; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Apolipoprotein B; lipoprotein; VLDL; microsomal triglyceride transfer protein; chaperone;

    Sammanfattning : Increased levels of cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood are important risk factors for the development of premature atherosclerosis and its complications such as coronary-heart diseases, stroke and peripheral vascular diseases. These diseases are the major causes of death in Europe, USA and part of Asia. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Assembly and Secretion of Atherogenic Lipoproteins

    Författare :Caroline Beck; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :very low-density lipoprotein; ; apolipoprotein B100; ; B-cell receptor associated; microsomal triglyceride transfer protein; ; secretion; assembly;

    Sammanfattning : The classical dyslipidemia seen in patients with type 2 diabetes is characterized by elevated serum triglycerides (TG), low levels of high-density lipoprotein cholesterol and the appearance of small, dense low-density lipoproteins (LDL). It is now recognized that the different components of diabetic dyslipidemia are not isolated abnormalities but are closely linked to each other metabolically, and are initiated by the hepatic overproduction of large triglyceride-rich very low-density lipoproteins (VLDL1). 5. 5. Studies on the assembly and secretion of apolipoprotein B containing lipoproteins

    Författare :Karin Lindberg; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :apolipoprotein B; lipoprotein; lipoprotein biosynthesis; Brefeldin A; microsomal triglyceride transfer protein; liver fatty acid binding protein;

    Sammanfattning : Lipoproteins are water-soluble particles of lipids and proteins, which deliver water-insoluble lipids from intestine or liver to target tissues where the lipids are used as fuel or storage. Lipoproteins consist of a core of hydrophobic lipids surrounded by an amphipatic monolayer of polar lipids and specific proteins, apolipoproteins. LÄS MER
