  1. 16. Implementation and Analysis of Air-Sea Exchange Processes in Atmosphere and Ocean Modelling

    Författare :Björn Carlsson; Anna Rutgersson; Ann-Sofi Smedman; Öyvind Saetra; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Sensible heat flux; Latent heat flux; Momentum flux; Wind stress; Marine boundary layer; Air–Sea interaction; Swell; Climate model; Ocean model; Roughness parameter; Drag coefficient; Wave breaking; Meteorology; Meteorologi;

    Sammanfattning : To understand and to predict the weather and climate, numerical models are important tools and it is crucial that the controlling processes are described correctly. Since 70% of the global surface is covered with water the description how the ocean and atmosphere communicates has a considerable impact. LÄS MER

  2. 17. Wind Turbine Sound in Cold Climates

    Författare :Kristina Conrady; Anna Rutgersson; Karl Bolin; Sabine von Hünerbein; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; atmospheric acoustics; wind turbine sound; outdoor sound propagation; cold climates; Meteorology; Meteorologi;

    Sammanfattning : The increase in the number of wind turbines (WTs) in populated areas in cold climates increases the number of people potentially being affected by WT sound. Outdoor sound propagation is strongly dependent on meteorological conditions, however, limitations in the knowledge exist regarding the implications of meteorological conditions in cold climates. 3. 18. Uncertainties and variability in the global carbon cycle

    Författare :Stephens Craig; Martin Heimann; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Meteorology; Meteorologi; meteorologi; Meteorology;

    Sammanfattning : Anthropogenic emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2) are perturbing the radiation balance of the atmosphere that ultimately determines the climate for all life on Earth. The prediction of future climate change and the explanation of observed changes are contingent on us quantitatively understanding the link between CO2 emissions and atmospheric concentrations that is provided by the biogeochemical carbon cycle. 4. 19. Atmospheric Dispersion Modellingof Volcanic Emissions

    Författare :Adam Dingwell; Anna Rutgersson; Björn Claremar; Robertson Lennart; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Meteorology; Meteorologi;

    Sammanfattning : Gases and particles released by volcanoes pose a serious hazard to humans and society. Emis-sions can be transported over long distances before being reduced to harmless concentrations.Knowing which areas are, or will be, exposed to volcanic emissions is an important part inreducing the impact on human health or society.
