1. On metal ion chelates and conditional stability constant determination : Method development and selective ion flotation of chelating surfactants
Sammanfattning : .... LÄS MER
2. Labelling of various macromolecules using positron emitting 76Br and 68Ga : Synthesis and characterisation
Sammanfattning : Different prosthetic groups containing a trialkylstannyl- and an electrophilic group have been synthesised and labelled with the accelerator produced 76Br (T1/2=16 h) through oxidative bromination. The labelled prosthetic groups were conjugated to amino-containing macromolecules such as proteins and 5´-modified oligonucleotides. LÄS MER
3. Studies on mitochondrial adenosine triphosphatase : uncoupler-reversible inhibition of mitochondrial ATPase and related enzymes by metal chelates of bathophenenthroline
Sammanfattning : The mitochondrial ATPase constitutes the terminal enzyme of oxidative phosphorylation and is, together with similar enzymes present in chloroplasts and bacteria, responsible for the synthesis of ATP from ADP and Pi during electron transport. The enzyme consists of an extrinsic, catalytically active part, called Fl, that is structurally and functionally linked to an intrinsic, proton-translocating device, called Fo. LÄS MER
4. Selective Sorbents - Silica-immobilized affinity ligands and molecularly imprinted polymers
Sammanfattning : The development of selective sorbents for the separation of various molecules, preferentially biomolecules, is described in this work. Affinity ligands were immobilized on small silica particles and used in high-performance liquid affinity chromatography (HPLAC). LÄS MER
5. Cellular Responses to Arsenite and Cadmium - Mechanisms of Toxicity and Defense in Saccharomyces cerevisiae
Sammanfattning : All biological systems have to cope with a wide range of metals that are present in the environment. Metals can be essential or beneficial for life, inert or non-essential and toxic, often depending on their chemical form and concentration. Most organisms have evolved defense mechanisms in order to deal with toxic metals. LÄS MER
