    Författare :Charlotte Sylwander; Ingrid Larsson; Emma Haglund; Maria Andersson; Ulf Jakobsson; Högskolan i Halmstad; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Knee pain; chronic pain; health promotion; health prevention; health status; lifestyle habits; overweight; obesity; health literacy;

    Sammanfattning : Chronic musculoskeletal pain impacts the individual in multiple aspects of life (biological, psychological, and social). 2. 7. Immune tolerance by interferon-alpha in experimental arthritis

    Författare :Jaya Prakash Chalise; Mattias Magnusson; Thomas Skogh; Richard O Williams; Linköpings universitet; []

    Sammanfattning : Type I Interferons (mainly IFN-α & IFN-β) belong to a family of cytokines that possess strong antiviral and immunomodulatory properties. Pro- and/or anti-inflammatory effects of type I IFN have been observed in infectious diseases and several autoimmune diseases including SLE, MS, RA and experimental models thereof, but what defines either outcome is largely obscure. 3. 8. Systemic lupus erythematosus and rheumatoid arthritis : analyses of candidate genes involved in immune functions, for susceptibility and severity

    Författare :Martin Johansson; Solbritt Rantapää Dahlqvist; Ingrid Lundberg; Umeå universitet; []

    Sammanfattning : Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is an autoimmune rheumatic disease with systemic manifestations characterized by auto-antibodies directed against different parts of the cell nucleus including DNA, histones and ribosomes. The systemic inflammation can cause damage to multiple organs, e.g., kidneys, skin, heart, lungs and the nervous system. LÄS MER

  4. 9. Atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease in rheumatoid arthritis : aspects of pathogenesis and risk

    Författare :Bengt Wahlin; Solveig Wållberg-Jonsson; Anna Södergren; Anders Bengtsson; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Rheumatoid arthritis; inflammation; atherosclerosis; cardiovascular disease; risk estimation; cytomegalovirus; T-cells; bone turnover; osteoprotegerin; osteocalcin; Medicine; medicin;

    Sammanfattning : Patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) have an increased prevalence and severity of atherosclerosis, and a corresponding increased risk of cardiovascular disease. The mechanisms causing this are not well elucidated, but both traditional cardiovascular risk factors and RA-associated factors have been associated with atherosclerosis and increased risk of cardiovascular events in patients with RA. 5. 10. The population burden of gout and urate in Western Sweden : Prevalence, incidence, comorbidities, and association with cardiovascular disease

    Författare :Panagiota Drivelegka; Göteborgs universitet; []

    Sammanfattning : Background: Gout is the most common type of inflammatory arthritis and is associated with several comorbidities and an increased risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD). However, data on the epidemiology and comorbidity patterns of gout in Sweden are scarce, and whether its association with CVD is causal or not, is not clear. LÄS MER
